My first post!
Hello all

Dragon Records is Belfast's newest record shop, and it's on the first floor of 58 Wellington Place, between the Lounge Cafe and Up & Running (the same building as Dark Angel Tattoo).

We're stocking vinyl and CD, and although most stuff is 2nd hand at the minute, new stuff is arriving in regularly. We stock indie, experimental, noise, soul, funk, jazz, blues, electronica, hip hop, reggae, psych etc so come in and have a look.

We've got (amongst other things) some Sterolab, Ornette Coleman, King Tubby, Radiohead, Black Dice, Orbital, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Azusa Plane, Crowbar, Serena Maneesh etc etc etc.

New stock that arrived recently includes some dub LPs on Jamaican Recordings, Thai Beat A Go Go LPs, Russ Meyer soundtracks on LP, and some mod compilation LPs.

You can follow us on Twitter here, join us on MySpace here and be our Facebook friend (search for Dragon Records Belfast).

We're open Monday to Friday 11 til half 6, and Saturday 10 til 6.

There are flyers around town with more info on them, and you can contact us through here or at dragonrecords [at] gmx [dot] co [dot] uk

Thanks - hope to see some of you at the shop soon!

Oh - also - if there are any bands/promoters/distributors that would like to sell some stuff in the shop, just give us a shout through here or email or whatever and we'll see what we can do for you.
3. avatar fatterkin
Good Stuff, will try and pop in some lunchtime this week for a browse!

That unit was the original Crymble's musical instrument shop when I was a kid. I suppose no-one else is old enough to remember that. Beautiful art-nouveau front.
5. avatar POSITIVExYOUTH
From nearly no indipendent record shops to two, as a self-confessed vinyl junkie I cannot be happy enoguh.

Hopefully will manage to drop down to check out the place next week, a selection of dub vinyl is definitely proving tempting!
6. avatar steviel
Brilliant! I'm really getting into this vinyl collecting carry on and I should be in next time I'm about the city
7. avatar POSITIVExYOUTH
Beware, it all starts as harmless fun and then it turns into an addictive and costly habit. A bit like drugs really.

[quote:1e3cb2f813="POSITIVExYOUTH"]a selection of dub vinyl is definitely proving tempting![/quote:1e3cb2f813]

We have dub LPs in at the minute by King Tubby, Niney The Observer, Horace Andy, and a Treasure Isle Compilation. Also we have stuff in by U Roy and John Holt amongst others.

We've just got The Funky Beats Of Revolutionary Cuba volumes 1 and 2 in on LP for those who want something perhaps a little more exotic.
9. avatar POSITIVExYOUTH
King Tubby, U-Roy and Horace Andy? Looks like I'll be showing my face on wednesday!
10. avatar Dragon Records
Heh heh. Good stuff.

Let us know what you thought of the shop - we're looking for feedback to see how we're doing, early days though it is.
11. avatar POSITIVExYOUTH
Was in yesterday to check it out and buy (the dude with the camos who bought The Locust/Jenny Piccolo split 5" and others) and I have to say it is a quite nice space, definitely has potential. Obviously as it's early days the stock is quite limited, but a lot of what was there was really good. Quite surprised to see some of the stuff I saw for it not being a 'specialised' shop. If yous keep going that direction it's definitely going to attract a few people.
12. avatar Strong Reaction
Locust 5" you say?
13. avatar antimythrhythmrockshocker
dont suppose thers any jobs goin in ther at the minute?
14. avatar Jamesy Yakuza
Will try and get in at the weekend...are yis buying second hand stuff? I few bits and pieces I could bring down..."why the hell did I buy that" kind of stuff that someone might like...
15. avatar POSITIVExYOUTH
16. avatar Dragon Records
Thanks for the feedback, that's encouraging. We will certainly take a look at stuff if you want to bring it into the shop.

Other stuff we have in at the minute that might be of interest to some of you out there includes Gravitar, AIDS Wolf, Azusa Plane, Belong, quite a bit of Black Dice and Nick Cave & The Black Seeds, Enon, XBXRX and suchlike.

Sorry, there are no jobs going at the minute, but thanks for showing interest. Maybe one day, who knows?

We'll be getting more new stock in next month, some hip hop, some dub, some noise, some other bits and bobs. Keep checking in please!
17. avatar Dragon Records
Thanks to everyone who's popped in so far. More stuff has arrived - Serge Gainsbourg, Lee Perry boxset, Pantera boxset, some Belle & Sebastian CD singles, System Of A Down CDs, MV & EE, more Black Dice, and Gene Vincent!

We're open Monday-Saturday if you fancy popping in. Thanks!
