Uber Gliteratti are really very good indeed. Ice cool pop that pleasingly brought elements of Eurythmics and Dubstar to mind. Even a hint of Black Box Recorder. Great stuff.
Add to that interesting elements from Altered Images, Prefab Sprout and even the Lightning Seeds.
They need a proper bassist and a good lightshow. After that there's loads of potential.
Glad you enjoyed it, I was dang impressed with Toy Soldier having come up from Dublin on short notice when I half-jokingly said I'd like them on the bill.
Next fortnight's gig features Common Bred Trigger, Thrones Of Roll and Delerium Tremens. :025:
Yeah I second that, I was really impressed by Toy Soldier. Would deffo like to see them back in Belfast.
I really like Uber Glitterati. I think Elizabeth's voice has a rare combination of pure tone and pitch with (seemingly) effortless power.
The songs are good, catchy pop tunes with a good bit of variety among them, but I did notice last night that Nakatomi Towers have a slight edge over them in writing dynamics in a song, like having the confidence to really, really bring a breakdown almost to a dead stop, and then wallop it up to a crescendo. Cheesy, I know, but this is pop music.
NT also have a very easy confidence on stage that I'd love to see in Uber G.
I enjoyed all the performances last night. If I had to pick a favourite, well, maybe Uber Glitterati by a nose.
Hey guys, thanks for all the comments and thanks so much for coming down to the gig. We're still just starting out so it's great to see friendly faces in the audience and to get feedback!
We [Uber Glitterati] had a great time and enjoyed all the bands. I especially liked 'Make your last words a song' by The Flora, The Fauna.
As yet, the light show is but a dream...
