I haven't really heard much mention of the Magic Numbers 'ere, perhaps because youse fink thur sheet, but I heard thon wee tune ("forever lost") on Janice Long last night and drifted into a cuddly deep sleep. Gorgeous sound. Although they do look abit like a depressed (and i mean, mentally) version of The Corrs...
There's Andrea there (right) note the beard, grown out of stress, depression and boredom. And Jim there, in the background, having adopted a more "I'm a Jesus look-a-like" style, as opposed to his "I definitely try to have sex with my sisters" era.

I saw these guys play SXSW on M2, I believe... didn't really do anything for me, they came across very bland live, plus the bass player looks like she ate all of her other whale friends out of the ocean. Not pretty.
If only there were more like me, the world would be a better place...
It's always heartening to see ugly bands getting signed.
except for Rick Waller....em Michelle McMammoth...
altho it has to be said, his success, unlike his waist, was somewhat limited...
...i wonder why...
I also saw that SXSW footage, and admittedly it wasn't great. I've also heard a few other of their songs, and I'm not completely convinced, but I'm rather liking them. Edited by: The Onset at: 11/5/05 5:41 pm
They look like French and Saunders doing the Corrs a bit, and the tubby guy looks abit like Jack Black in School of Rock.
Did anyone see that actress' band on Jonathan Ross at the weekend God that was BAD music and i dont think she knew how to take old rossy. most dont. Oasis' version of My Generation was ace also :hat
The girl to the left looks like Gimli from LOTR. Only with less beard.

Am I alone alone, so far, in finding large chunks of this thread offensive and stupid beyond comprehension?
"that actresses band" are Juliette (Lewis) and the Licks. I think they are pretty damn good, or atleast what i have heard, and she seems to genuinely have a passion to make music. Yeah its a bit retro punky pop but its better than alot of @#%$ that gets publicity.
Oasis on the other hand murdered My Generation, but they do that to pretty much every cover they try their hands at.
The Magic Numbers are class, Hymn for her is a crackin tune. I had a post up months ago about trying to get them over here. But to no avail!
