so i signed up to work at a gig but i dont know what kind of work it is, i've read about people talking about it on here..but if theres anyone out there that could tell me what i would have to do at it? would be handy..kinda iffy about it..but if it seems good enough i'll give it a shot..and does it pay?
Well, there are a number of jobs that are done at a gig: musician; sound engineer; roadie; dj/mc; ticket/money collecting doorperson; bar staff; bouncers; and probably more that I've forgotten.
You seriously don't have a clue which you're doing?
"show work" is what it says on the email. I have an idea, but i'd like to know for certin what it actually is. Was thinking many someone was doing the same thing and they could inform me.
Sounds like you're doing crew work which is basically setting up the stage/lighting etc and dismantling it after and whacking it onto a truck.

And cheers man, that sounds pretty handy!
if its for the oasis show it'll be load in/out (what dan said) but they're also looking for catering assistants and runners during the show too, basically taking orders (lunch, coffee/tea/water) and getting them etc.
Sweeny, are you working Oasis? If so, please shove Noel Gallagher over again. A second time within the space of a few months would be great!
