I found my copy of this after being parted for years at the weekend and it hasn't been off. Just f*cking amazing stuff, Lydon's voice at its manic best and his lyrics sound totally contemporary 18 years on. 'Warrior' and 'USLS1' in particular are snarling, sinister gems.
Any other PiL fawns out there?
Look, PiL were no Magazine.
Neither are they out remawstered this month.
[i:46b668ed18]Howard Devoto drugging and f*cking ewe, on the Permafrost, yesterday[/i:46b668ed18]
I'll never forget the day I bought PiL's [i:f86b382d03]Metawl Bax[/i:f86b382d03] in Our Price Abbeycentre. Frankly, [i:f86b382d03]monumental[/i:f86b382d03] wouldn't do it justice.
Yes but F*CK UP (Feline), cos USLS1 goes:
"The moon shines bright in the desert night
The other side of a clear sunlight
The other side of a character
Comes out to play before the day
The devil follows out his plans
And makes his work for idle hands
Neatly packaged bird has flown
The devil takes care of his own
Clouds now greeting this aeroplane
Tearing across the empty sky
A bomb implant in the luggage hold
The devil takes care of his own"
And there's all this spiralling feedback mixed with hypnotic chiming guitar lines and Lydon sounds like some sort of demonical fanatic psychopath and it's [i:208241b957]just cless[/i:208241b957]. Everyone go and steal it from Limewire at once.
the wretched MEMORIES is truly wired, yes.
Dragging on and on and on and on
And on and on and on and on................
Death Disco indeed!
Mind you, Death Disco is no The New Stone Age by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark...
Is Magic Murder and The Weather less sheit now?
Yes but I just found Dave Formula's mySpace!
Roll on those Visage remasters!
