Remember to have booze in the house for after hours drinkery. And make sure you have bacon in the fridge. Morning after fry. Then the Empire on Sunday for the football. Sadly I'm working. My plan involves 2 crates of post work Guinness and 2 packs of smokes. Noice.
For God's sake don't miss BCC's stellar line-up at Custom House Sqaure!
"The first half of the concert will feature traditional Irish and Ulster-Scots performers, including folk group Blackthorn and the South City Highland Dancers, as well as international boy band Streetwize.
The second half of the concert will feature Samantha Mumba, who will be taking a break from filming her latest movie with top director Stephen Spielberg to wow the Belfast audience with what promises to be a fantastic free performance.
Bringing the concert to a close will be the up-and-coming Scottish singer Sandi Thom, who enjoyed virtually overnight success last year with hit singles such as I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (with Flowers In My Hair), What If I'm Right? and Lonely Girl, and her debut album Smile… It Confuses People.
With a capacity of around 5,000, admission to Custom House Square is free, but entrance will be on a strictly first-come-first-served basis."
How gratifying that 'myspace sensation and music industry revolutionary' Sandi Thom has sunk as low as one can go in record speed.
There was a really hilarious story in the Indo last week about how she'd had to cancel her 'triumphant comeback' gig in Vicar Street after selling about 40 tickets. Made more amusing cos a C4 crew is following her about for a fly on the wall doc about her 'triumphant comeback'. You can imagine how she's going to come out of that one. What a shame.
Still, at least she's hosting the inaugural Fate awards so it's not all Z-list tragedy in her life. :P
I can't really wish any harm to her, she was remarkably polite and tolerant as I attempted to expresh myshelf and my admiration for her. At least I assume so, as I wasn't immediately wrestled to the ground with a 20 stone mans knee in my face :)
Ach, I'm sure she's nice, she just embodies the stage school, Louis Walsh preened manufactured wunderkid charabanc of sh*te. And seeing that disintegrate is always worth a giggle.
Finally, let's not feel too sorry for her as she's made a f*cking fortune modelling underwear for Marks and Spencers, an option not open to many of us. Though I think it is time Goatboy was given a shot for a range promoting 'real beauty' in men a la Dove Soap. :D
To be fair the Whig is a keek hole anyway, so no loss.
I would go for McHughs, Spaniard, Duke of York, Hewitt, Whites, Kelly's, Maddens, Morning Star, The Garrick (don't miss the Garrick for a pint of slow flow!), Katy Daly's, Auntie Annies, The Empire, Lav's, then go back to the Garrick and stay there till closing time, then go to Kelly's :)
Not sure what that's about but all we managed was McHughs,Whites,Kellys,Auntie Annies,Lavery's. Saw Tinpot Anto in Kelly's but didn't get the chance to say hello...aw well. 1pm-11.00pm.....was on for more but glad I didn''t....mate went to Katy Daly's after Lavery's and saw a guy get beaten to a pulp by some biker dudes...nasty sh1t!
It can bring out the best but it can bring out the worst too I suppose.
