quick question, with fear of looking like a tool...
is the only difference between the SM58 LC and SM58 S the switch?
Off the top of my head cause i couldn't be bothered going to shure's site to find out, the other thing it may be is something to do with the frequency response or the polar pattern. As far as I recall (bout 8% factual) shure do slight variations in that range of mics e.g. the frequency response is varied in that they adjust where the presence peaks occur so one mic might be geared more towards vox and another to guitar amps (speakers). Soz, just a guess, go check it out... :!:
Edit: finally became 'bothered'. The letters after the model number just indicate little variations in the model extras, and thats all. LC (less cable) just means the mic and adapter don't come with a cable when puchased and the S, as already mentioned, just indicates that the 58 has a switch on it. I believe they are just optinal extras for use with the company and with retail outlets.
