STEADY HANDS (pop-punk infused folk from Philadelphia, USA)
w/ STU DALY (Dublin) & KEV JONES (Empty Lungs, Belfast)

15th September, 7pm // FREE ENTRY
Born in New Jersey, bred in Philadelphia, Steady Hands is better known as Sean Huber, the drummer from US indie-rockers Modern Baseball (probably the best band you've never heard of). Calling on Say Anything's bravado, the Front Bottoms' tongue-in-cheek quirk and the Weakerthans' literary misery, Modern Baseball's debut record, Sports, was given 9.2/10 by Absolutepunk.net.
"In the same way that people look back at Take This To Your Grave and Deja Entendu now, don’t be surprised when Sports is the classic on everyone’s lips in a few years. Honestly, this is the best album released within this scene in 2012." - Absolutepunk.net
Not content with making album of the year contenders with Modern Baseball (who are, incidentally, also getting ready to play at The Fest in Gainesville this year), Sean Huber picked up an acoustic guitar and started thrashing his way through Philadelphia with his unique brand of folk-infused pop-punk in 2012 under the moniker Steady Hands, recording The Libertines EP (released this year on Lame-O Records).
Sean Huber first visited Ireland in 2011 to make a documentary on the punk scene. The closing track on his EP, A Song For Rosemary, documents his experiences from that trip. Sean is visiting again to play his first gigs in Ireland under the name Steady Hands.

Stu Daly has toured in Ireland, the US and UK as a member of punk band Chewing on Tinfoil, in every venue imaginable, including Maida Vale Studios where he recorded a live session for BBC Radio One. In his spare time, Stu exchanged his bass for an acoustic guitar and harmonica and began to perform in quieter venues around Dublin towards the end of 2011. As these solo performances became more frequent, the songs took on a life of their own, and before long Stu was recording a two-track demo, which he released for free online in early 2012. Stu has recently released his full band debut 5 track EP “Heritage” in June 2013 on Toast Office Records.
Kev Jones is better known as the guitarist and vocalist from Belfast’s Empty Lungs playing passionate, hook driven, anthemic rock and roll, combining explosive punk rock with 90's indie, folk and americana. Empty Lungs played their first show in May 2011 and since then self-released a 3 track single, 6 track EP and 3 music videos. Their explosive live shows have seen them take to the road around Ireland and the UK several times sharing a stage with bands such as Alkaline Trio, The Subways, Lemuria, Cheap Girls, Japandroids, Franz Nicolay (The Holdsteady), Beans On Toast and NoMeansNo.
