Next up to celebrate 5 years of SO:NI gig sin Lisburn is the actual “5th Birthday Party” at Hague’s Bar – SO:NI’s home in the city throughout the years – on Thursday 31st January. On this occasion the line-up has a nice symmetry to it…featuring 2 acts that played at the very first gig back in January 2008!

[b:9d3405843e]Smoking Tongue[/b:9d3405843e] will headline – a soulful and gritty rock quartet, who recently won the Lisburn Battle of the Bands competition. This group opened the first SO:NI show, and it’s highly appropriate that they return to headline this show – launching their new single in the process! Special guests are [b:9d3405843e]The Everyday Superheroes[/b:9d3405843e] – a unique female-fronted Lisburn 4-piece with a clutch of massively catchy tunes. There will be a very special support act – the much missed [b:9d3405843e]Universal Remedy[/b:9d3405843e], who split up a few years ago, will be reforming for a one-off performance at this gig. A skillfully melodic and uplifting band – this is the perfect show for such a performance, as the boys also played the first SO:NI Lisburn show. Opening proceedings is solo act [b:9d3405843e]Nathan Miller[/b:9d3405843e] – a man who has played more of these showcases than anyone else, solo and as a member of such bands as Whanau, Invinyl, Iago and Ruhk.

Doors open 8.30pm, admission is £4.50 and a party atmosphere is guaranteed. SO:NI would like to thank every great band & act they have worked with in Lisburn, and especially all their loyal punters who have supported the gigs and kept live music alive in Lisburn. They look forward to the next 5 years – and invite anyone who would like to play a showcase to get in touch through Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/soni.live.1
