Fronted by Charlie Looker (Zs/Dirty Projectors) the Brooklyn experimentalists have been described by The Quietus as being "wildly ambitious and utterly unique". Extra Life’s all-star cast also includes violinist Caley Monahon-Ward (Snowblink), bassist Anthony Gedrich (Stats, Ocrilim), drummer Nicholas Podgurski (Yukon), and saxophonist/keyboardist Travis Laplante (Little Women). <br>Support comes from Belfast trio Girls Names. Formed in January 2009 with their first gig booked before even playing together, Girls Names unabashedly hark back to the early/mid eighties shadow world of Beat Happening, Black Tambourine, Felt, C86 and the Sound of Young Scotland. In their short existence they have quickly honed their craft in creating their own self-styled “disposable noise pop”, masking subdued bittersweet vocals and melodic hooks with reverb drenched guitars and Mary Chain primal drums.

Just a reminder about the Extra Life/Girls Names double-bill at the Crescent Arts Centre this Sunday. Maybe Extra Life's set-list will feature their version of R Kelly's 'Your body's callin'! :D
