TEN GALLON HAT & THE BIG SALUTE, JUNIOR JOHNSON, THE BAND WITH NO NAME
PLUS DJ SETS FROM DEADONMUSIC DJ’S
28 May 2010, McHUGH’S BASEMENT, QUEENS SQUARE, BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND
Formed two years ago, Ten Gallon Hat & The Big Salute have been growing in popularity in their native Belfast and gaining a reputation as one of the country’s premier electric country blues bands with prestigious slots at the Open House Festival and UTV Countryfest.
2010 has been busy for Junior Johnson, working on the follow-up to the ‘Stoned, Ripped, Twisted. Good People’ EP he has also found time to cram in some memorable live performances. In 2009 he completed a tour of the New England area in the USA and can count Shane Magowan, IAMKLOOT and The Paperboys among the high profile acts he has shared a stage with.
From new Country to dirt farm Gospel and with vocals filled with Hillbilly harmonies, 3 Belfast pickers play guitar, banjo and mandolin and sing country in an Old time style.
With playing and vocals rooted in Americana the band with no name cover the likes of Neil Young, Hank Williams, and Crooked Still along with a few of their own numbers.
OUTLAW is a club night blending together the songwriting traditions of Belfast and her twin city Nashville. With a policy of good music drawing on country, folk, blues and rock and roll influences it’s the perfect place to kick back on a Friday, have a drink, have a dance or check out some brand new tunes. http://www.deadonmusic.com/
