No Mean City
No Mean City are a female fronted alternative four piece from Derry, Northern Ireland. Combining raw riffs, syncopated rhythms and authentic vocal hooks guaranteed to catch your ear, whilst focusing on pure energy and performace live. Fresh to the scene but already making an impact, the quartet plan to shake up everything in their path. Recently featured in Hot Press Magazine as 'Hot tip for 2010', receiving airplay on notable radio shows such as BBC radio 1 Introducing and Electric Mainline and gathering much attention across the country.
Consisting of two former members of Kharma 45 (Glenn, guitar and vocals, and Phil, drums) and also Bradley (formerly of local derry bands "empire" and "northern lights", bass).
During their time in kharma 45 Glenn and Phil had the privilege of living two years on the road touring round the UK and Ireland in the back of a splitter van, all funded by Warner bros Records, playing almost every festival from Reading and Leeds to T in the Park, Rockness and Hyde-park Calling and supporting such bands as We Are Scientists, Kasabian, Live, Milburn, One Night Only and Faithless.
Calm Season Riot
Blending the right amount of heavy with beautiful intricate melodies.. Calm Season Riot aim to make an impression on the music scene in 2010! Currently booking shows and getting ready to release our first E.P./Single recorded with Smalltown America while constantly developing our sound and live show.
A bit of Derry madness.
Calm Season Riot have had to pull out BUT they have been replaced last minute by the increbulous Building Pictures (aka John Gribbon). Accompanied by a cellist this is a breathtaking act. They have played Charlies Coffee Shop a number of times and blew us away every time and I can't wait to see them on a much bigger stage tonight. Get down early and check em out they'll be on at 9:45pm.
