KATIE AND THE CARNIVAL
Cabaret folk rock with a contemporary theatrical twist! Katie and the Carnival not only present you with great, catchy songs, they also captivate their audience with an energetic live show filled with fun! Enchanting harmonies and heartfelt lyrics are the core of this exciting band's being!
Roll up, roll up for a dark concoction of musical pleasures. Carrying a battered suitcase full of upbeat yet melancholy songs intertwined with gutsy and whimsical lyrics, Katie and the Carnival have come to town.

CARA COWAN (21) has been performing in and around Northern Ireland since she the tender age of 16. In this time she has been part of many different band lineups, has frequently moonlighted with other artists and has played around with many different styles, but primarily has settled on a sound of her own which fuses a mixture of conventional pop with a modern folk element.
In 2009 she recorded an EP backed by a band that included members of emerging Belfast band Panama Kings as well as Katie Richardson from Katie & The Carnival.
Similarly to Cara's own personality, style and attitude, her music is also a hybrid of upbeat and rocky numbers contrasted with butter-wouldn't-melt-in-her-mouth cutesy ballads and quirky tunes - a healthy mix of mood and tempo which reflect the multifaceted nature of the lady herself.
Cara has had huge support from local radio including BBC DJs Gerry Anderson, Rory McConnell and Alan Simpson. In 2009 she performed at The Belfast Nashville Songwriters' Festival and the Rathlin Island Festival (Gigs and Rigs) and has also played prestigious support slots with acts such as Carrie Rodriguez, Declan O'Rourke and Nancy Griffiths.
Still only very young, Miss Cowan plans to record and tour further afield in 2010, educating the world as she storms through it in life through the eyes of a bright, young, diva-lady. Lock up your sons!
"Cara may be a much younger talent ... but she still shows huge promise. Despite hailing from Belfast, there's not much that's Northern Irish about her polished music, which seems to have come straight out of Nashville. On stage, Cowan's country-style vocals were near perfect and her sound completely complemented the bluesy tunes... Her great backing band was another big plus.” Robyn Clare Scott – BBC ATL

Tomorrow night, oh yes, tomorrow night.
I hear Wednesday night gigs are the new rock'n'roll. Just sayin'.
Is the Ronan Keating thing just a rumour????
