60 persons formed in the summer of 2008 whilst all members of the band studied music together at college. Since then the hotly tipped Glasgow band have completed their first UK tour which took in such colourful venues as Polmont Young Offenders Institution and a headline slot at Alan Mcgee's Death Disco, along with 5 additional London shows and a headline show at Whelans in Dublin. The band have subsequently been signed to Bella Rebel and are widely regarded as one of Scotland's most promising new acts.

"From a city with a proud musical heritage, Sixty Persons emerge with a blistering new EP that promises a lot and delivers. We'll be keeping a close eye on these lads.
    Derek Byrne
The Lounge/Saturday Lunch Time Show/The Kiosk

Turnaround "A stomping track from a hotly tipped Glasgow band. The vocals are an emotive drawl and there's a tightness to the band, with impressive guitars and pounding drums. Good old-fashioned anthemic rock"

After a hugely successful 2009 The Varionis have propelled themselves balls first into 2010. With brand new songs being worked on and a gig schedule that would make any touring band look lazy this is a band you’ll be hearing plenty of in the coming months. Support slots with the Buzzcocks, That Petrol Emotion and The Hotrats and a hugely successful EP launch epitomised just how far the band has come in the last year. This is a unique band with a unique sound, no rip offs, no bullshit. Just The Varionis.

The Varionis can, and probably will be, your next favourite band whether you like it or not…they are probably the most under-estimated band in Northern Ireland at the moment.

Formed in ’07, the five-piece have been busy beavering away on the live circuit, refining their sound and kicking ass and this latest slab of wax is their best recorded material to date. Make sure you sample ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’ in particular as it’s ace.
