I've never cracked a cymbal in my life so i wasn't too weary when buying Ks or K Customs!

Z Custom crashes are horrible, i've played them before, sure they're renowned for durability, but i've heard sweeter tones with a tin can.

I got the Ks because they're dark, baby. Best cymbals i've ever heard, but they're damn expensive. So warm and natural, providing you don't saw them to bits, they'll suit any genre.

Z Custom chinas cut like fucking Leatherface (the legendary chainsaw weilding psycho, not the band)

I want a ZilBel, anybody got one for sale?

Edit:i just coined a new word

Just won a tama steele 10X6 snare of ebay & am hoping to invest in a yamaha definative maple kit.In fusion sizes.

Anyone got any decent meinls for sale

As far as sticks go,don't touch any stick other than promark.Vic Firth have to be the worst sticks knowen to man.Extremly over rated & cheaply produced. As for heads, remo are particually bland sounding, evans are nice but,I can't see why they're so popular. In all seriousness there's no heads that compare to attack, they produce the most beefy sound & have proven to be more robust & relaiable than any other drum head,I've ever owned.Plus,'Bozzio can't be wrong & who elese makes heads with a jingle on them?No-one.! Sounds like a bit of a novelty having a tambourine bell on a drum head but,can add character to your sound & how you tune your drums in the subtlests of ways &,they as good as don't exist.Of all the drummers I know,of whom I've mentioned them to,have just dismissed them in a sarky school boy giggle.Charlie Adams {Yanni,Plain James,Chameleon} uses said head,on selected drums which are largely responsible for his orchestral sounds & is an extremely talented drummer. So,bare all those facts in mind before you buy another evans G2 :smt116

PS-Sorry if I sound patronising :smt014

I salute ye peasant! good to see a punk with taste, :!:

You said you've done drum recording, how did the k's work out in context with the music? Are you getting enough cut through?

Dave, try the b's then me thinks or your drums positioning. Do you catch the rims alot i.e. do you get central splits or are they random splits in different places?
24. avatar Rockin
i like the solar ride. the crash is crap. See thats why i got the zildjin crash ride and high hats, Starting to replace them.
25. avatar munchies
try a decent ride, then u'll realise that solar is pish. replace them as soon as ye can.

oh and yea i used to be a pro mark man meself, til one day i got a new pair of 5a's and they were jst different. felt completely different. so i tried out a pair of vic firths and they were really nice so i kept them.
26. avatar peasant*in*paradise
I found my K/K Custom crashes cut very well with loud music. The 18" packs and punch and has quite a lot of sustain, it's very brooding, while the 16" is bright and sharp. They both compliment each other very well. Like 2 peas in a proverbial pod. Plus Ks/K Customs are just fucking beautiful, my hats were hand hammered and sure look the piece.

I started on Solar also. The hats were strong but dear God..the sound.

Anybody see the comparisons between wine and cymbal descriptions? The pretentious rhetoric used to describe them by critics is basically exactly the same:

"Dark, warm, lush, and gorgeous. Dry overtones and smooth decay, full-bodied"

"Harmonious acidity, dry edged, bright, subdued, warm finish, rather inexpressive"

Which of the 2 above quotes is describing cymbals? You may be surprised.
27. avatar peasant*in*paradise
Oh yeah, and there's nothing nothing wrong with G2s at all, providing you use an appropriate resonant head and tune the skins properly you should be able to get whatever sound you want. I think they're great.

The only sticks that suit punk music, i've found are Tre Cool's signiture sticks by Zidjian. Huge shaft of these boys! They're thick and pretty heavy, but i think that helps your endurance. It feels like a walk in the park when you go back to 5Bs. A pair of Tre Cool's sticks, on average, would last me 1 or 2 months, and that's with heavy/fast playing. Vic Firths with be lucky to last a few hours.
28. avatar MalekB-Sick
Solar cymbols would make a grown man cry lol, im so glad i got my dark k crash, got shes a beauty.

the Pro sonix hats r nice, really heavy but nice.

i use pro mark 5b nylon tiped sticks, they do me well, they lasted about a month oif my little bro playing, he has a fetish for hitting the flipin rims lol

Heh, it could well a rim issue, most of the time the entire thing breaks off in one go, a couple of inches down from the tip. May try the b's.

Our drummer spent big money last year on her Yamaha kit. I'm not a drummer, but in my experience, Yamaha don't make a bad anything.
[img:1c7b93618a]http://www.annaghvarn.plus.com/band/photos/arianne.jpg[/img:1c7b93618a]
Plus, she has something I'll bet none of the rest of you use -- pink high heels! (visible on the hihat pedal).
31. avatar Le Sac Magique
i've always found you just have to get lucky with yamaha stuff, altho i don't know much about their drums. but even their high end guitars often are set up terribly, and in the case of one i bought for about £500 the nut snapped within two months (the high e string was jumping out of the groove a lot, and one day decided to take the groove with it)
32. avatar Mikeymoko
Yahama drums are pretty good shit. Generally too expensive for us meagre local drummers. A drummer with a good ear can take a mediocre kit and still make it sound the business.
Personally, if i had the choice i'd take a mahogany Pearl Masterworks kit and use a metal snare (preferably brass/aluminium) slap some coated pinstripe Remos on her - one can dream
33. avatar Avarimusic
My first post!
I'm sorry for rubbing it into you guys (not really) but I'm using a Pearl Masterworks myself.
Toms are 2ply inner Maple, a ply of Mahogany and an outer ply of Bubinga (sizes 10x10 12x10 and 14x13) The Bass drum is 6 ply with 4 inner of Maple, a ply of Mahogany and an outer Bubinga (22x18) If you opt for a Bubinga finish you have to have a 'carrier' ply which explains the errnoneous Mahogany ply. You can select either Maple or Mahogany but I chose Mahogany for a slight boost in the low end.
Drums are fitted with 24k Gold hardware.
Also I'm using a Pearl Masters Custon snare 14x6 in Natural finish.

Cymbal wise I'm a Sabian man:
14" AAX Stage Hats
17" AAX Studio Crash
18" HH Medium Thin Crash
21" AAX Stage Ride
10" AAX Splash
12" AAX Splash

Heads wise, I use a Remo Coated Emperor on the Snare batter with a hazy Ambassador resonant.
On the toms I use Clear/Coated Ambassadors on the batters (using 2ply heads on a kit with 4ply shells is criminal) and Clear Ambassador resonants.
Bass drum gets the Coated Powerstroke 3 treatment.

Sticks - Pro Mark 3AL

I'm not sure how to post pics on this thing though :(

Time for me to enter this one. I've been reading lovingly about Masterworks kits with bling bling 24K hardware (tres nice my friend), so here's mine. I have a Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute in Plum Birch that I've been using for the last six years. Found out recently Yamaha no longer do this colour on the old absolute lug style drums, or the nouveau ones for that matter, makes the kit a little more special to me.

Sizes are:
22x18" Bass Drum
10x9" Tom
12x10" Tom
16x16" Floor Tom

Snare is either a 13x7" Akira Jimbo Beech snare drum with wood-hoops or a 14x5" Mapex Black Panther Brass snare.

Cymbals are all Zildjian:
14" Avedis New Beat hats
17" K Medium Thin crash
18" K Custom fast crash
20" K Jazz Ride or a 20" K Custom ride for those heavier gigs
11" Oriental Trash Splash
18" Oriental China Trash

Pedal is a Pearl Eliminator Pedal (best pedal on market in my opinion)
Stool is a Pork Pie motorcycle seat (my ass is happy).

Still experimenting with heads, currently using Evans coated G1s on tom batter side, Remo ambassadors on resonant side (though I'd be interested in what clear diplomats sound like as resonant heads). Hate clear pinstripes, they just sound like beach balls to me ears, but have to admit they're very good for a dead studio sound or very controlled live sound.

Would love to get my hands on a Brady custom snare drum, especially the ones made from a hollowed out tree!!

Stoogie, I hate ya. 2 quick questions though.

1) have you ever played a Birch or Maple absolute, and if so how do you find the beech compares? I have a Birch myself but always wondered if I should have gone for something a little less dry sounding.

2) is that black beauty a new or old one, and if new is it a imperial or tube-lug design? Just being a geek on this one, love BBs, though want to get my hands on a 70's Ludwig 400.

i never played a maple or birch one, although i'd like to. i really wanted a maple 1 but bought it mainly 'cus of the sizes with 2 floor toms and the 24 kick which i always wanted. i was told there's not much between the 3 woods and beech is in the middle sound wise and the cheapest.

the bb is a supraphonic with imperial lugs, i just got during the summer on holidays in new york, cost $500 the same is we pay in pounds here. great drum, but the guys in the band like my musashi 13" one better and its a third if the price. aye an old 402 is on the wish list bonham style!

Just got a new kit a few months back

Kit:

Mapex m-birch 8", 10", 12", 14" toms, 14" snare, 22" bass drum
12" pearl firecracker snare
performance percussion roto-toms (3), not sure of the sizes

Cymbals:

Zildjian Zbt set unfortunately (completely ruined)
sabian pro-sonix 20" ride (not happy with this either)

Accessories:

Pearl Cowbell
Mapex double kick (unsure of model number, really basic though)

I'm looking for a new set of cymbals after i can afford a new guitar. Can anyone recommend any Sabians that are good for funk/rock? I'm not really a big fan of Zildjian except for the A Customs.

Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage

Toms - 8", 10" and 14"

Standard snare with the kit - 14"

Remo Pinstripes

20" AAX Stage Sabien China
18" AAx Stage Sabien Ride
16" AAX Stage Sabien Crash
14" AAX Studio Sabien Crash
8" AAX Stage Sabien Splash
14" AAX Stage Sabien Hats

I am looking into double bass pedals at the minte, what would be a good pair in teh £100-£200 price range. Gibraltar and Yamaha seem to be the main pedals in that range.

Also want to buy a Firecracker snare.

the drummer for acidtone uses 7a? thats pretty light for your stuff do you break many sticks?
68. avatar Skies Of Millenium Night
well not really, im not a particularly big fan of metal as a style of drumming (with some exceptions) so most of my playin outside of my band is afro-cuban, grooving, jazz and just general technique playing, i would much rather practice a steve gadd lick than my double kick if you know what i mean..the styles i love playin dont really require lots of power so i only tend to break stix when im playin gigs and also im not a heavy hitter so this isnt that often..cheers

noooo wayyyy metal drummers for ever lars ulrich has to be the best drummer in the world lol just kidding back to what this forum is for drum kits

ehhh ive already entered mine but i want a mapex m birch with a fog horn and neon lights and a big red flashing one for my head and those laser sticks from ahead oohhh and a smoke machine yeaaaa
70. avatar Skies Of Millenium Night
u got some style there i see..haha, u cant go wrong with a mapex though. i was playing my friends saturn series, with short stack toms, sounds amazing. if u serious about the m birch look into the short stack toms..sound far superior in my opinion and ive only played them once!! and and yeah lars all the way
71. avatar drummer101
well seing as you have a nice tama starclassic would you trade it for say an orion or do you prefere the tama?
72. avatar Skies Of Millenium Night
would love an orion but would only trade my kit for 20x18" 10x8 14X11 16X13....and would prefer a saturn series as there colours are alot better in my opinion..would love to hear ur orion, got any gigs etc lined up were i could hear it possibly??
73. avatar drummer101
lol read up a couple of messages up where it says i would like a mapex m birch. im only on a venus series i need to upgrade to somethin i used to want a tama superstar but im thinkin i would like a mapex but the venus is awesome lol i will swap you for your starclassic its worth it you know you want to :D

76. avatar munchies
yea it is, playing for madra now. first gig with them coming up on the 24th march cant fucking wait. should be excellent, been doing fuck all for the past year before i joined with them. Got another bluesy/funky band on the side too which is good craic, just never get to practice on a real kit and end up practicing with them on an electric one.

Im using a Tama Rockstar at the minute, its my pride and joy even though i got ripped off when buying it but shit happens. I love the tama colours, mines is the sugar white pearl, il post a pic later when im in the house.
I use:-

Zildjian 13" A custom mastersound hihats
Zildjian 10" A custom splash
Zildjian 17" A custom crash
Zildjian 16" ZBT crash (Shit)
Zildjian 20" ZBT Ride (Shit)

I love the A customs, hate the zbts but im just about to order a 20" A custom ping ride, and a 18" or 19" A custom crash.
Does anybody have any advice on the ping ride or the sizes of the crashes???????
78. avatar Skies Of Millenium Night
all the a custom rides are excellent!! the ping is good has the right balance between wash and well ping i suppose..lol... although id opt for a 22" not a 20"!! as for the crashes i recently got an a custom 18" medium and its class! id go for one of them, normal a customs are slightly too thin soundin for me!!
79. avatar Benny_Civilian
Cheers, i was just thinking about getting a 22" last night as well cheers for the advice, just hope thomann have them in stock so i dont have to wait.
80. avatar stoogie
yep, i have 17 and 18" A custom crashes- work really well together, although they r thin i'd still go for the same type rather than mixing with the mediums or projection unless u really need to go for a heavier weight.

we'll just wait for a post from the prog dude to tell u to sell the a customs and buy meinls (the rich mans zildjians r something) ;-)
81. avatar Benny_Civilian
Thanks for the advice, im not a fan of meinls, i like the hihats they do but nothing else. You coudln't beat zildjian with a big stick lol.
82. avatar munchies
the poor mans zildjian lol aye i have the hats and theyre dead nice but i havnt got to try anything else by them, well except some cheap shite ones but all companys make cheap shite cymbals so ah well
83. avatar Skies Of Millenium Night
meinl are excellent cymbals. i heard most of their range at drummer live 2005 and they are seriously underated...i esp loved the amun series crashes, really full sounding like a mix of a zildjian z custom and k custom if such a thing is possible..in saying that il stick to zildjian purely cause il know what im buying with zildjian!! rawk on!
84. avatar adi.feud
im playing on a ELX cobalt fade jobby, great craic...nice and basic setup

sabian lad myself
-14" AA hats
-16" pro sonix crash (next to be replaced)
-16" AAX crash
-20" pro sonix ride
-14" AAX china
-10" AAX Splash

yet to record with it, hopefully do that this year

as far as sticks go i used to be all about vicfirth and sometimes promark...but no cos im a bit of a broke student i use these stagg jobs...not the best but dirt cheap in bulk off of ebay so im not fussed like

88. avatar Sparky
Mapex bass drum and floor drum. (metallic petrol blue with beech hoops.
Switch between the DW and Mapex (the one that came with it) pedals.
Old, resonant metal snare (that after being stuck in my garage for half a year seemed to make it louder)
Sabian Pro Crash x2
Sabian Pro Ride
Sabian Pro hi-hats
Ambassador Heads
Rennaissance bottoms

I have a two-tom rack thing but i hardly every use it.
Want more cymbals. Saving for some meinls.

their called holz or bass drum O's- if ur close to coleraine mr drums has them, or ebay. if not some of drum shops in england that sell on the net(soundattak.com for example).
90. avatar Benny_Civilian
Cheers, i dont know if id b arsed to travel to coleraine for them, i live in derry. But i found them on ebay but theyre only 6" so ill just wait until i find 4" ones.
91. avatar ratherfunkychemicaljunky
Mr. Drums can post out stuff like that if I remember correctly.
92. avatar Mikeymoko
ADC Drums in Liverpool sell a 22" skin with a holz in it already, looks professional instead of you making it look like you've taken a knife and fork to it...

http://www.adcdrums.co.uk/product.asp?P_ID=431&strPageHistory=search&strKeywords=holz&numPageStartPosition=1&strSearchCriteria=any&PT_ID=all

well worth the £35
93. avatar stoogie
jesus christ, coleraine's only 40mins tops from derry and mr drums is on the derry side- its worth the trip just to see the gear he has there. r u can sit at home and pay some1 an extra 5 or 10 quid to post it.

they're not hard to fit as long as u follow the instructions- i tried fitting a 4" one to my skin in a hole that was already slightly bigger than 4" (I thought it'd work) but made a hash of it and had to buy a 6" one to do it right. so check if you've holes already in ur skin that they're under the size of holz ur for getting.
94. avatar Benny_Civilian
I used a the remo cutter so it should be the right size. I would travel up but i dont have a car or anything, but i might get a bus up someday and check it out. What kind of prices does he charge on all sorts of equipment.

Agreed. These sticks suck. They were grand for a while until all inside two songs the tips of four of them came flying off like 9mm rounds into the back of the guitar playing types in my band.

Other than that. Sticks are sticks when the argument's between pro mark and firth etc etc etc. Roll 'em on the deck to make sure they don't limp and then you're sweet.

I contacted Premier direct to get them to make a kit up. Just thought fuck it,been strugglin (well, soundmen have been) with my old kit for years - got a loan, n spent 1300 on 3 drums!!! 22x20, 12 x10 n 16 x 16 - silver sparkle.
Have a 14" Ludwig Supraphonic snare which i got at a yard sale in the States for $50, and theyre on ebay for 300!!
Im also using Zildjian 13" K hats - which i love but want 15's, 18" A Custom Crash, 18" K Custom crash, 22" A Custom ride, and a Sabian Crash Ride which I hide at the back. Its there to beat the fuck out of. Im a Zildjian boy thru & thru.
Have an Iron Cobra double pedal.
Usin an Arbiter flat 10" with a mesh head mounted off the hi hat stand rigged up to a D4 - in a covers band too so use this to trigger hand claps etc.
Use Seinheiser kick E604 kick drum mic, and 2 of the same clip ons and a SM57 for the snare.
Just downgraded to 5a's after years of using 5bs so its takin a bit of time to adjust.
Currently a big fan of the Evans Emad series kick drum heads, thy are so handy, ive had to take the pillow out altogether which changed the response of the kick drum head but the sound is fantastic.
That is all.

Grrr Zildjian and GRRR evans. No time for either. ever. sabian all the way. perhaps meinl as well. sticks dont matter and anyone who thinks they do are thinking too much.

ancient mapex kit with the toms removed and replaced by a separate mapex tom rack.
skins: i care not for them. stick the f*****s on and fugget about it
old bass pedal with no name so i dont know what make it is. (formerly a DW double bass pedal that cost me a mint but i flogged it to buy a christmas present last year)
just bought a new hi-hat stand. dont know what make it is. just bought the cheapest one in marcus. works nice although the pedal and legs dont rotate
sabian pro hi-hats and sabian pro ride, 4 sabian pro crashes of different sizes and a sabian splash and a cheap-ass stagg china.

as you might be able to tell i gave up on bothering about the fine points of drums and equipment a long time ago.
114. avatar stoogie
alright sanzo- nice kit- is it a mapex or wha?
strange positioning of the crashes for me anyway, but i like the hihats and ride, they look like paragons- i've the same, nice auld cymbals.

Looks like its a Yamaha to me, with a wuhan china. Ive heard alot about their china's where did you get it from sanzo?
116. avatar remainsofyouth
sanzo's kit could be a sonner force 3001. or a yamaha stage custom. or something else.

My kit-

premier artist maple 20", 10", 12", 14"

sabian AAXplosion 18" crash
sabian AAX 20" stage ride
sabian AA rock hats (cheap as chips but dead on)
zildjian A custom 16 " thin crash

I must say, the AAXplosion is the best crash iver played, except for a few in the zildjian K custom range. Anyone else have one?

ATM im playing a range of Sabian XS20 - they are good for a mid range cymbal

20" medium ride
16" medium crash
14" medium thin crash

8" medium splash

Not to sutbly hijack this thread but

Does anyone use silencers or pads to dampen the sound of your drums... ie for close/confined local areas to practice...as keep consider getttin a kit for ages but cant do it with the ssound... any help appreciated
133. avatar Mowgli
There are some great muting options out there, Vic Firth do a great wee set actually that really deaden the sound. If you dont live too far from Ballyclare direction call into Northern Percussion on Saturday if you are about and you can see a few different options just to give you an idea of what is out there before going to the expense of buying a kit only to find the sound is still too loud

141. avatar esotericeric93
nice
142. avatar Garzo
I wish I owned a kit that looks nice. Mine all look like battered pieces of sh1t(mainly because they are), but they sound really nice(as far as I can tell) thanks to a little extra money and time spent on the heads etc. Doesn't normally bother me, but when you see something as pretty as some of the beatables in these pics it makes you long for something jaw-dropping. Or should I say eye-catching? Jaw-dropping could be misconstrued as a bad thing.
143. avatar Mowgli
Well if ur feeling flush you could always buy a new kit that looks impressive (like the PDP orange sparkle up at Northern Percussion mentioned elsewhere), make sure its the same sizes and wood as you are using now, swap the heads over and spend a bit of time on the tuning (after all the skins will already be broken in).

Win win situation for you and whoever gets your battered old drums as they will prob be getting a bargain :)

Of course if u feel really flush we have a lovely Pearl Masters in Gold Sparkle 8)
144. avatar Garzo
I wish I was flush. Harrumph. There is always finance I suppose, but that's a dangerous line of thought...
145. avatar Mowgli
Not at all, finance is our friend, ignore silly talk of recessions etc and spend lots of money instead on a fantastic drumkit that you can proudly show off to your friends... Hmmm, just realised why I seem to be perpetually skint :(

*But still, is worth it
146. avatar Garzo
Is there an interest free period? I'm also meant to be buying an amp of some description. Ever since the repair job on my piece of crap Laney went...badly. It would have helped if I had known what I was doing.
147. avatar Mowgli
We aren't set up with any credit companies at the minute, sorry, although would be happy to max out ur credit card for u ;) *joking

What amp are you gonna get? If you are buying new then try Thomann for pretty cheap Behringer then go along to Matchetts and see what they do it at, can sometimes be cheaper. We beat them on prices for kits although most people assume they are the cheapest place to buy all things musical.
148. avatar Komodo Studios (Alwyn)
Hey fastfude drummers, I'm looking for a TAMA starclassic or equivalent to use on an album I'm producing in the summer.

I'd be willing to either rent it or exchange the loan of it for some of the services we offer in Komodo:

-recording
-mixing
-mastering
-duplication
-band merchandise (including drum skin prints)

I would of course take great care of it and would lend you a tama superstar custom during the time you are parted from your baby.

for the record so as to not be seen a completely hijacking this thread)

Komodo's drumgear more or less:

-3 TAMA superstar custom kits (2x rock sizes, 1x fusion)

-new skins always!

-pearl steve ferrone signature snare (mmmm!)

-Chad Smith signature snare

-pearl masters snare

-Pete Erskine signature supranino snare

-loads of ziljian A crashes (though i want to replace them with the new meinls!!!) zildjian k hats, sabian fusion hats, A rock ride, K custom ride, K crashes (14") selection of chinas & who knows what else kickin around...

-rototoms

-3 double pedals (DW 9000 and 4000, pearl eliminator)

-pearl powershifter (my fav kik pedal, and i have tried many, it seems to be the most satisfying kik to play, something to do with the acceleration of the beater. even our eliminator pedals can't get the same slap, even with the interchangeable cams... and the dw 9000 is TOO smooth in my opinion)

-complete set of ddrum pro triggers, going into 2 alesis DM5s

-roland electronic kit TD 6 with harte dynamics drums & hats i think, not used for recording though!

agh sure I'll list my drum mics too:
-AKG D112
-tg-x 50
-4 x AKG 414
-soundfield
-sennheiser md421 x 3
-shure sm57 x 4
-and loads more that are not specifically drum mics

By the way, anyone want to swap a 22" kik for a 20" kik? the one i would swap is a 22" TAMA superstar custom. I have 3 of the buggers, i need variety!

on a side note (note slight bitch session coming up)

When yal are playing a band night with say 3 to 4 bands and one guy says theyll bring the drums does anyone else get massively f@*ked off when you turn up (with you essentials) to find a half falling apart kit with like one tom and one cymbal stand only to hear from the drummer in question "well I only need one tom". now I know i normally use 3 rack toms but ive learnt my bands set with 2 cause a standard kit is a 5 piece. I feel it very inconsiderate to all the other bands when a situation like this happens. If someone says theyll bring the drums they surely need to remember that not everyone uses one tom. on the flip side, if i were to then bring my setup aswell could you imagine the crys if i then wanted to strip everything down and set up my own. it wouldnt go down well.

im not saying that when you elect yourself to bring the kit that you need to bring a joey jordinson or neil pert setup cause one of the drummers may use all that - im just saying maybe a little courtesy is needed.

one final thing - it really grinds my gears when a band says "can you bring the drums cause we dont have any" - How the hell do you practice then!!!!

i dont mind bringing my setup. as a drummer i expect to have to bring em, just like a guitarist is expected to bring their own guitar, i even got cases to make it easier - i just hate lazy, inconsiderate, self centred douchebags.

Yes the Ultimate Ears are fairly expensive, at around 400 I think, just for the earpieces you better be pretty serious before splashing out on a set of those. But from what I gather their great bits of gear, perfect mixes of your band/kit at a comfortable level and no monitor blasting into your lugholes.

On a sepearate note, I'm selling my kit, its a Pearl Prestige Session Select in Emerald Mist. 10, 12, 13, 16 & 22, shell pack only. Looking around 450 for it. Any of my fellow drummers out there need or know anyone wanting a nice wee set?:D

I totally disagree with you. From experience I've found that the majority of drummers playing gigs around NI most commonly use a '1 up 1 down' drum set. It's hardly inconsiderate that the guy providing the drumkit on the night doesn't bring an extra tom for people like yourself - you're also assuming that they [i:222e18d795]own[/i:222e18d795] an extra tom. I know a lot of people who like myself ordered their drumset to the specification they use.

If you dont mind bringing your setup and expect having to do so, why not just bring your extra tom to gigs? Its only your duty if you're going to need to use it.

Yip i have to agree with Vic, i use the 1 up 1 down setup because well thats how i play but more importantly i dont have the other mounted tom. ive played gigs where the other drummer will bring a huge kit with 4 toms and its bad enough when i have to tell them i play left handed but i wouldnt complain cause theres too many drums. a good drummer should learn to adapt cause if theyre not your drums your not always going to get what you want.
