    Featuring pioneering New York musicians Andrew Cyrille (drums) and Henry Grimes (double bass/violin) alongside British free jazz giant Paul Dunmall (saxophones), Profound Sound Trio was originally formed in 2008 for an appearance at the prestigious ‘Vision Festival’ in New York.
    <br>
    [b:be5a2273e0]Andrew Cyrille[/b:be5a2273e0]is a brilliant drummer and percussionist, who is equally at home in linear and free jazz contexts. He is widely respected for the many years he worked and toured with Cecil Taylor.
    <br>
    [b:be5a2273e0]Paul Dunmall[/b:be5a2273e0] has performed with most of the world’s leading free jazz and improvised musicians, during an expansive career. As a young musician he worked with Alice Coltrane and toured extensively with Johnny ‘Guitar’ Watson. He has been a member of the London Jazz Composers Orchestra, featured in outstanding collectives such as ‘’Mujician’ and has performed with local composer Brian Irvine.
    <br>
    [b:be5a2273e0]Henry Grimes[/b:be5a2273e0]originally performed with Gerry Mulligan and Sonny Rollins, before becoming a key player in Albert Ayler’s band. He retired from music in the seventies and his absence was much lamented in jazz circles. He made a welcome return to music a few years ago and since then he has been at the heart of may interesting developments and has even had the honour of being presented with a bass by William Parker.
