    Can't await.

Are the cassette tapes available at the door?
  10. avatar Crackity_jones
I imagine that's the idea. The merch stand is normally on the left as you go in.

Annoyed at myself for missing this. Can I get a tape? My car only takes tapes. I need mroe tapes in my life.
  12. avatar Crackity_jones
So I was wrong! The tapes were handed out by the band at the end of the gig. I got one. :-)

Not Squares were awesome by the way. They have a new song that sounded like bloody Digitalism, all analogue synth arpeggios. As my mate said to me at the end, you'd love that band no matter where they were from. Awesome stuff.

class show. i just became their fan on facebook, alas for allegiance is official.

    Yes, you were wrong :)

    Got a tape myself.

Again, Not Squares were fantastic, really like the new sound and direction.

The second act, 'Enemies' , if I'm correct, really didn't do anything for me. The lead singer was a Karren Remereo look-alike, without the same stage presence or vocal. Music wasn't anything special either.

Nope. Error in the listing there. Ememies were on first, followed by Cap Pas Cap. (Fail Dee!!)
Ememies were the instrumental band with the second drum kit.

Cap Pas Cap were good, but nothing to write home about.
Those of you that were late arriving really missed out on the ememies. Most definitely the biggest supprise at radar in my opinion (in the last few weeks). They were class!

Probably the worst ive seen not squares. there was a few bits out of time, in a few tracks which is unusual for those guys. fairly abrupt ending, was left a bit non plussed. still one of my favourite local acts but.

really liked that synth arp though. tasty.
  17. avatar yodaISgreen
Fair. Enemies were fantastic though - great groove and a simmering joy.
  18. avatar Furious Tradesmen
i thought they sounded - and looked - exactly like the redneck manifesto. got a lot better as the set went on, but when i walked in i did a double take. if i could forget ever having seen or heard the redneck manifesto, i'm sure i'd have loved them.
  19. avatar Crackity_jones
I thought the same and I'm not even that familiar with the Rednecks. Really enjoyed Enemies though. Cap Pas Cap were pretty average (as usual) though We Are Men is a belter. They just sounded like that last YYYs album only without the tunes. Not Squares were great, although I agree with Johnny about the timing. The synth loop drifted out of sync with the drums on that really ravey new one a few times. I donít notice any other problems though.

And great to see such a big crowd out.

    +1

I noticed that about the synth arpeggiator loops as well

Hey thanks to all who came down last night. And a big thanks to Enemies and Cap Pas Cap for playing.

We had a few monitor issues that kinda threw us a bit. But otherwise a good night was had. Wish we had lights like that for every show we do!
