Having sold out of 500 CD singles and 500 12Ē EPís the band returned to the studio and have put together an album that is as stunning as it is ambitious. Call Me Dragon the bandís debut album is set to be released on CD on Brew Records and on Vinyl on Function Records.
Recorded at Foel Studios in Wales with Chris Fielding (Electric Wizard, The Klaxons, Napalm Death) and mastered at Turan Audio (Jimmy Eat World, Marilyn Manson, Will Haven) Call Me Dragon demonstrates the freaked out, riff driven prog-force the four piece have become.
With vintage amplifiers, big drums and passionate high energy performances These Monsters deliver a huge live sound and are fast developing a reputation as one of the loudest and most exciting underground bands in the UK. Thus far These Monsters have already impressed supporting bands such as Russian Circles, These Arms Are Snakes, Oceansize, 65 Days of Static, Grammatics, Jeniferever, Dinosaur Pile-Up, Pulled Apart By Horses, Mono, Envy, We Vs Death, Health, The Whip, Foals, Lite, Unsane, Youthmovies, iLikeTrains, Broken Records and The Fall.
Sets at Leeds/Reading Festivals in 2008 and ZXZW in Holland saw These Monsters take to bigger stages and have just been followed by a mammoth 70-minute set at this years EXIT Festival in Serbia.
These Monsters recently finished filming a music video for the album title track ĎCall Me Dragoní. Written, produced and directed by Tommy with Adam Conlon taking on cinematography duties (Funeral For a Friend, Gallows, Fightstar, Grammatics). Release of this video will coincide with the pre-order release of the album.
"These monsters are simply amazing. The four-piece make blunderbusses of songs that would give Godspeed You! Black Emperor or Mogwai nightmares. A vicious, energetic and loud-enough-to-be-pornographic live show."
- Sandman Magazine
"They look like they've come in off the street after a three day bender, complete with questionable fashion accessories, headbands for pity's sake! Phenomenal!"
- BBC Raw Talent
"Time has frozen as witnesses halt in their tracks, intoxicated by the heady miasma of post-rock resonance. Both comforting and devastating."
- The Fly Magazine
