I am looking compile a list and get some information on band community sites, like myspace, bebo, that sorta thing.

What do you find are the best sites, as in the ones that you get more views on or use the most.

I will post up a list of the best ones when I get all your info.

Thanks

Tim

I think myspace is still the dominant go-to site for an all-encompassing bio, bit of music, some photos in a standard layout.

Facebook's band pages aren't so good. I believe there is a problem with music on them.

Bebo looks ugly.

Although Reverb Nation and Purevolume are good, MySpace is king. Simple and familiar format.

myspace is the best because not only does it have all of the essential stuff on it like music, gig listings, bio and photos but also is the best for adding some personality to each bands page. i use last.fm occasionally to find new bands and browse. last.fm is class because you can 'scrobble' everything you listen to. i like that feature. i think ReverbNation is great, but i still think MySpace hols the most traffic as its been the most plugged over the years

If MySpace don't do something soon, they will cease to be relevant. Last year, Facebook was the only social network showing consistent growth, and by now it may well have passed MySpace.

Very good piece here: Happy 'Quit MySpace' Day
[quote:0d195522d1]MySpace doesn’t need improvement - it needs a complete rethink. It needs to be remade, genuinely in the service of the people who make it work - OR we need to stage an orchestrated mass exodus.[/quote:0d195522d1]

I am getting sick of the fact that myspace is constantly broken and sometimes a page will be taken over by an ad - poor, poor programming. Also, how hard can it be to update film maker / musician pages to 2.0?
10. avatar Kristam Moffett
its not thats its hard to update to a 2.0 profile - its that you dont get to design over the top of a 2.0 profile with css layouts
