Well, pretty good really. It was a surprise he lasted that long.
I vaguely remember a programme of him wandering glassy-eyed around Belfast, fondly comparing it to Florence (or was it Venice?). Classic.
Ach I know he had cancer and wasn't well, but it was still a bit of random coincidence that the thread should've started hours before he died.

Seriously with the glut of cookery shows on the tele the master should have had a chance to bring the cup home, with a wee swally too.
I always thought he was cool,and I've never had an interest in cooking.
Apparently he died waiting for his programme to start on TV last night....
weird but anyway, RIP.
