‘Furr’ is the fourth record by Portland sextet Blitzen Trapper and the follow-up to the highly acclaimed "Wild Mountain Nation". Blitzen Trapper released their third album, Wild Mountain Nation, in 2007 to much critical acclaim from critics such as Pitchfork, and Spin magazine and was high on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. The group signed to Sub Pop Records and the release of Furr in 2008 was a high-water mark for the group as their eclectic new songs received a two-page feature in Rolling Stone. The album was ranked #13 on RS’s Best Albums of 2008 while the title track was ranked #4 on the magazine's Best Singles of 2008.

    My first post!
This was a truly brilliant gig... well done to all involved. Great line up, great sound. Was well impressed with Queer Giraffes having never seen them before and John Shelly were very, very good too. Blitzen Trapper are a band well worth checking out for anyone who hasn't! They've lots of free downloads here: http://www.daytrotter.com/

They were very impressive supporting Wilco in Vicar Street last week. Would have liked to have checked out the full set but a stag do at the weekend has left me in bits.
