Hailing from Austin TX, 3 piece indie rockers White Denim are back on UK shores this summer , supporting their stunning sophomore LP “Fits”. The band make their eagerly anticipated Irish debut at The Stiff Kitten Club in Belfast on Saturday June 27th.
Essentially the sound of a more-or-less conventional rock ’n’ roll band pushing the form to its limits, White Denim are not experimental, as such; more adventurous, frantic and greedy for ideas. With explosions, distorted howled chants, furious drums and bass runs, hardcore guitar chops, reverberant Hendrixy solos, and always with some kind of catchy tune over all the frenzied rolls, “Fits” is the sound of these Texans hitting their stride.
Drawing comparisons to MC5, Canned Heat, At The Drive In and, weirdly, ZZ Top, White Denim's latest offering is attracting huge critical acclaim. With a full release of “Fits” due on June 22 in the UK, this young band will be landing on Irish soil on the crest of a huge wave.

Haha cheers man! Listening to the new album on Spotify, looking forward to this!
Yeah, surprise gig of the year anyone? Though it'd be good but wasn't prepared for that! Absolutely, mind-meltingly amazing.
I don't know. I musta picked a crappy place to stand or something but i really thought it was just ok. Drumming was great, energy was there now doubt. And I did enjoy it, but I couldn't hear half of it. Bass player was playing LOTS of stuff that I just couldn't hear. Maybe it was the wah tastic guitar swamping everything out, but pretty much all i heard was mush and drums (and the drums where great). And I know White Denim are loud garagey rock and even taking that into account it was really just noise at times. Watching the drummer and the energy on stage made if fun. But overall, I haven't come away raving about them. Maybe on a different night. Maybe just not for me.
I'm with Chris, surprise gig of the year indeed. Way better live than on record. Sound was spot on for me. The band had a great time as well.
I was really blown away by White Denim. One of the best live bands i've seen in years.
Quite staggeringly good, I thought. Fuck, that drummer's good, and, yeah, much better than the records which are just okay.
