Thieving spides seem to be on the up ...credit crunch perhaps? - theft always seems to go up in a recession...so, I was wondering, is there a cost effective way to insure amps, pedals, guitars etc .
Given that if someone steals your JCM and Les Paul custom, the value is probably similar to most people`s cars, it is a risk to leave it unattended at gigs when thieving wee bass drinkers lurk in every nook and cranny.
I've got insurance to cover all gear damaged or lost/
cover if I decide to wreck a venue/
cover if our sound guy decides to slide the van into the side of The Empire State building....
I'm not sure which is most likely to happen first.
It's somewhere around £2000-£2500 a year.
Ouch. Presumably a large part of that is down to traveling abroad a lot. What about just for gear Rocky?
One of the best policies is available via the Musicians Union, who have a deal with Hencilla Camworth.
