tell me about it - 3 of my favourite irish bands, all under one roof. UTH. i'd be shitting myself if i had to follow adebisi shank
4. avatar Deestroyer
Why are Adebisi Shank always so low on the bill? Surely they have the popularity to warrant a better slot at some of their appearances here?
5. avatar Crackity_jones
Well this is Not Squares' night (single launch I believe) so they are bound to headline, but surely Adebisi should be second on the bill?

Anyway, stellar line-up. It'll be my first time seeing LaFaro since their gallavanting round GB so looking forward to that.
6. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
of the three, i'd say AS have the lowest profile in belfast, so that's why they're on first

though the emphasis is being put on a triple headline show, as all bands are equally amazing
7. avatar cmcb
Adebisi Shank = amazing. Also been looking forward to seeing Not Squares.
8. avatar adamb1026
Excellent, great to finally see AS.
9. avatar DeliriumTremens
AS make my loins stir.
10. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
yeah, they're an amazing live band. can't wait to see them again.
11. avatar caro1yn
ooooooh this will be a good one.

shame i'm in the wrong hemisphere.

14. avatar Not Squares
IF our vinyl manufacturing people can pull production in to high gear to deliver our lovely Aye Yo Pa/IYOUUSIT 7 inches on time they will be on sale on the night. BUT we will be selling some very nice limited edition CD versions of the single with some cool remixes on there too!

The single will be available to download digitally at the end of June. We'll keep you posted on that. You can stream it here now: http://www.myspace.com/notsquares

Also, check out the cool remix that Mark Lam did of IYOUUSIT here: http://www.myspace.com/Marklamdublin

Herv (Richter Collective) has remixed Aye Yo Pa for a release of remixes by Richter Collective bands coming out soon, and hopefully this remix will be on our limited run of CDs too!
15. avatar Reckoner
Are LaFaro still selling the second EP at gigs? For some silly reason I never bought it when they played with Fight Like Apes and there didn't seem to be any merch at the Radar gig.
16. avatar mynameisdave
We've a few copies of thon second EP left and I'll make sure they're at the show!
This gig will roooooooooooool.

Aww!

Really looking forward to this gig, an now this....

This has now reached 'unmissable' status.
25. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
Remember doors are at 8pm, it's an early show, so Adebisi Shank will probably be on about 830pm
26. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
Friday night. Now with added BBC Introducing w/ Rory McConnell on Radio 1 too :).
27. avatar thepostboxtheory
Can't wait to finally see adebisi shank live and of course Not Squares!

Good times :-D
28. avatar yodaISgreen
Pretty new vinyl has arrived and will be on sale (each with a unique insert) on Friday night.

A single available at a single launch - now there's a turn up for the books!
29. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
The single is awesome also
30. avatar Desus
Single on CD format too?
31. avatar Not Squares
If you ask nicely. I mean really nicely!
32. avatar Desus
I'll tell you what. If you have those lovely t-shirts there as well. I'll ask nicely. Twice.
33. avatar sassyjam
this is tonight!

In addition to the lovely 7" which arrived this week [unexpectedly, thank Allah] we're also selling a limited edition run of CD singles with 3 bonus remixes.

Oh and Adebisi Shank kicked everyone's dicks in at the Twisted Pepper last night, so get down early (8.30) to see them!
34. avatar Gogs
Okay to pay on the door, yeah?

Stage-times...?
35. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
Stage times are:

ADEBISI SHANK - 830pm
LAFARO - 915pm
NOT SQUARES - 10pm

Roughly. Medicine club continues from 11pm - 230am, drinks are 2 all night. UTH.
36. avatar Rosshunter
This is going to be brilliant, I've been looking forward to this for weeks now!
37. avatar MULLAN Extraordinaire
I magically managed to get off work tonight so a trip to the Flexible Cat might be in order.
38. avatar Crackity_jones
This could be legendary. Bring it!
39. avatar smittennn
arrived late due to never-ending coursework
you think it is all over after the first trip to uni
then you have a go again.

NOT SQUARES got me out of my funk and on stage twice - i did not mean to be in centre stage - i just sort of found it:)
apologies for unplugging the Rickibacker

the music? - i found it rather satisfying - new material that has yet to be released has requested low frequencies and dissonant riffs;just need to get some double-kicks:)

remember folks - these three bands did it themselves
We ALL can as well.
40. avatar Recycled Alien
The bouncers were a bit overzealous in shooing you off stage. Twice.

Plus, clearing the LaFaro stage invasion was also pointless, given that they had only another 30 seconds left to play.

I'm still not totally convinced by Not Squares. I like their music well enough, but most of the time you would never know that there are two bass guitars, so what's the point?

WHATS THE POINT IN YOU????
42. avatar Joeplaysthedrums
Haha.
43. avatar smittennn
i must reply to the bouncers as the Kids were commenting about them.
They were perfectly civil to me and compare them to the Limelisht/S+A/Empire 'security' they receive my praise.
as PeteScald commented last night - "Gwendolin! What is it about you and stages - the first time I saw you at Giro's; Where were you? Yup - on stage in banter with the band.:)"
44. avatar spirit of division
Adebisi are now playing Curfew on the 12th July too...
