Just out of curiosity, what label is the representative from?

    Thanks.
  3. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
    Bedlam Management
  4. avatar burnthecanvas
They seem to mostly represent classical and easy listening/folk singer's would that be right?

"Bedlam Management represents three main areas of music, Vocal: Hayley Westenra and Aled Jones, Singer/Songwriter: Heather Nova and Cerys Matthews and Classical: Julian Lloyd Webber, Tyler Rix, Lang Lang, Nicola Benedetti and Elin Manahan Thomas."

So I presume they wouldn't be interested in anything heavy or rock related?

    Stephen.
  5. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
Just got an email from Bedlam there.

"...we are looking at ALL genres and singers/bands with the potential to become major acts - rock is great!"
  6. avatar my-angel-rocks
how much do you have to pay?
  7. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
    It does not cost anything.
  8. avatar chrisy mc cullagh
    My first post!
    Sounds good.
I will be happy to go along and audition.
Is it ok to play guitar and sing?
    Chrisy Mc Cullagh
  9. avatar Mutts Nutts
so is this a management company seeking new artists to represent or a record label as described in the thread title?
  10. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
Chris Mccullagh, playing guitar and singing is fine. Mutts Nutts this is another part of the email that I have been sent.

"...the talent we are looking for is for a major recording deal with a big label. Bedlam has just been tasked to do the job for them so to speak."
  11. avatar izzys_return
So do we just turn up and rock out? What equipment would be needed for a band?
  12. avatar kingcoma
    Hey BPR

Do you know if there is any pre-auditioning to determine what time a band will be auditioning or will it be a first come, first serve free-for-all?

    Cheers

    Sean
  13. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
Its a first come first serve free for all.
  14. avatar kingcoma
Thats the way i like it baby
  15. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
We have 3 cabs, 2 guitar and a bass cab (bring your own heads) and a couple of combo's. Drummer's need snare, cymbals and clutch. Your own guitar's and lead's etc... Check out the myspace for what you need to bring.

what if loads of people come and everyone hasnt got to audition by 9??

or will there be enough producers there on hand to hear everyone by that time??
    Daniel
  17. avatar TripleHaction
also..is the studio walking distance from the city centre yeah?
  18. avatar BELFAST PRACTICE ROOM
It's first come first serve. We are just providing the space for them and yes it's walking distance from the city centre check google maps.
  19. avatar Enixs
This seems like something you wont get close to coz there will be soo many bands etc looking to try out..
  20. avatar Mutts Nutts
unless everyone else thinks like that :D
  21. avatar izzys_return
I emailed them a couple of days ago and have not yet got a reply. Anyone else had any luck?
  22. avatar Goon
emailed yesterday morning and nothing...
  23. avatar login
Same here emailed talent@bedlammanagement.com two days ago
    nothing yet
  24. avatar Mel Wiggins
I also emailed them a day or two ago, but heard nothing...but I think the theme is 'turn up and see', so probably best to just come as prepared as possible and give it.
  25. avatar izzys_return
Yeah, it's just I shall be coming with my band (which will take up 2 cars) from coleraine, so at least 1hr 30mins drive and not know the craic. Yes I'll prob do it, but the seeds of doubt be planted
  26. avatar izzys_return
Still nothing, think thats very poor indeed :(
  27. avatar Mutts Nutts
maybe it's literally "first come, first served", "no correspondence will be entered into" etc etc.
The whys and wherefores really don't matter as much as getting yer arse down there and blowing them away with something they can market.

Why not? You might regret not doing it. ;-)
  28. avatar izzys_return
I agree Mutts Nutts but to state that you can contact for more info when no response is given is poor. Who knows

Gonna head round this, be an intersting experience and as someone who already said, it'll do no harm heading down.

    My first post!
went to this...btw, hello, I'm a long term lurker here.

We got good feedback from the "scouts." What was everyone elses experience?
  32. avatar clss_act_00
work across the way from this place so I'm pretty interested to hear what went on here..
  33. avatar login
Did anyone find out what record company they were scouting for?
  34. avatar wildpixie9
    My first post!
so what kind of comments were people getting? I was thinking of going along, but it seemed there was a 'rock band' theme going, very male.

    What did they say?
  35. avatar adamb1026
Was worth the trip, they were friendly (wouldnt say much about the guy at the sound desk though!) and seemed interested.

Have to wait 4 to 5 weeks before they come back with anything. They were doing this in England as well, so not getting my hopes up too much lol
  36. avatar adamb1026
Never got back to us in the end.

    Anyone else?
