Black Box Devil Disco presents Maurice Fulton

leftfield disco producer extraordinaire and one of dance music's true legends, recently releasing the amazing Syclops album on the DFA label.

After the success of Aeroplane Black Box Devil Disco brings you.....

Maurice Fulton: leftfield disco producer extraordinaire and one of dance music's true legends, recently releasing the amazing Syclops album on the DFA label.
His name is one of those unexpected recurrences in dance music: in the nineties his hand was behind ‘Gypsy Woman’ by Crystal Waters, one of the most successful house tunes of era, and these days he’s the darling of both the underground house and leftfield scenes both as a DJ and a producer.

As a producer, Fulton’s fingers were behind the desk on his wife Mu’s longplayer ‘Out of Breach’ Recently Fulton has been bringing home the bacon as a remixer, with his name in brackets on tracks by Hot Chip, Walter Jones, Annie, David Holmes, Icube, The Rapture and Chicken Lips. Connecting the dots between between funk, soul, house, disco in a confounding and convincing fashion. Retro future music sitting a little out left of the middle, on a journey to who knows where. Enjoy.

Supported by the resident Devil Disco DJs who will present an evening of Electro, Funk, Cosmic Disco, Go-Go, Skiffle and other mutant genres spawned from the deranged group mind. Providing succour for your head and feet, their aim is to move hearts, legs and other vital organs with music by the likes of Chromatics, Fever Ray,Trouble Funk, Luke Vibert,Telepathe, Aeroplane, Arthur Russell, Roy Orbison, The Soft Pink Truth, Glass Candy, Grace Jones, Parliament, Cluster, Sylvester, Bernard Estardy, Larry Levan, Lonnie Donegan, Asiko Rock Group and Lindstrøm amongst others.
