EXIT are currently looking for a new singer, due to commitment issues with our previous singer. We are looking for a highly talented and confident singer/frontman with a strong work ethic. Due to the band's ever-growing touring commitments (throughout UK etc) and label/managment attention a strong work ethic and full commitment is essential.

    Male/Female
    Age 18- 30

EXIT have received excellent press and reviews from KERRANG!, Classic Rock and numerous other local and national press. EXIT have been and continue to be played on many major radio stations throughout the UK.

Out of interest, why do you have a domain name, but no exit@exitrock.co.uk?

It takes two seconds to put together and really looks the bees' breasts.

Dont know whats going on there I checked the FTP files and it all seems fine and every other computer (windows & Mac) doesnt seem to have any problems. Maybe it was something else. I'll double check just incase.

Anyway, back onto topic. We have allot of exciting stuff in the pipeline and we are looking for a new singer. We are still a working band at the minute with our current singer but they feel that they cannot commit to the hectic schedule we have planned, so are looking for a replacement. Here is the info I got. Means fek all to me.

Blocked request: location contains malicious content
    Threat: Troj/JSRedir-O

    Threat source : http://www.exitrock.co.uk/
The requested location contained malicious content and was blocked from downloading.

Troj/JSRedir-O is a Trojan that attempts to download and execute more malicious code

Sorry don't mean to hijack your thread with this, just thought it might be of use to you if your website is infested with trojan beasties.

Anyway, good luck with the search!!!

I got a similar message, "malicious content" on your site too. If that is the computer you use to update stuff on the site that might be why it doesn't come up with you... maybe. Sorry to hijack the thread too but, it is better you know about it.

There's a very suspicious line of code in your front page

    the one that starts "document.write(unescape"

if you decode that all, it points to a file on a remote [possibly] windows share(*) server in Latvia called jquery.js

I'd imagine you don't want that line to be there.

[edit]Just checked, it seems to be present on all the pages. I'd remove it, and virus scan whatever computer you use to update it with.

(*) The server isn't responding to http or SMB for me, so I'm not sure how it gets the file. Possibly its now been taken down?

Hey all...thanks to everyone for pointing this out. I'll get it sorted. A few nasty viruses got into my PC a while ago and there must still be some weird code attached to files I uploaded onto our FTP a while ago. Ive now chucked out the PC and went mac.

Search is still on for singer.

    New singer = New band.
    Harsh, but it does.

So maybe a bit more emphasis on the need for a brand new creative input, to progress your band to a new level, wouldn't go a miss.

Not that I can sing or anything, but I wouldn't really want to join a band and sing a load of songs I had no involvement in.
(Obviously there are exceptions, but a fairly new band looking to play old material and material they've written without you, its not too appealing)

There's no question of not allowing a new singer creative input. New material etc is being constantly written. We are basically at the point now where we are established and getting attention from labels, management etc as we are, its just that our singer feels that they cant commit to everything we have going on so its simply a case of getting a new singer in and continuing on. (which includes constantly writing new material)

    Search is still on.... :D

Just a final update...we will be holding the first round of auditions on Sunday 17th May from 12noon. So if you wanna come up for an audition or for further information please get in touch: theband@exitrock.co.uk

Also, just to answer one of the questions we have been getting asked, this is not simply just a turn up and play the songs type of deal. New songs are constantly being written so not being given creative input etc is not an issue.

and tne singer will have as much input in the songwriting as everyone else yeah...cos personally as a singer songwriter i dont like singing lyrics other people write unless i relate to them if you know what i mean?

A few people have asked about influences, so just to cover it here, main influences would be:

Flickerstick, U2, Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Stereophonics, Queen, Feeder, Angels & Airwaves, Pink Floyd, Beatles too many others to list.

Good band dudes. Like, the recordings are ball grabbingly good. Not my genre of preference, but you know what I mean. If you could tell me where you did them that'd be a massive favour like :)

Certainly, the recordings are a mixture of our own recording and manor park studios.

Just a further update....we are currently booking for our second round of auditions, anybody whos interested get in touch asap.

After the first round of auditions we're starting to wonder if there are any serious singers/musicians out there, after various people who booked auditions refused to show up.

So any "serious" singers who are interested in pursuing a career in music get in touch, absolutely no time wasters please. We have gig dates sorted for a UK and Ireland tour, showcase gigs (including NXNE, Canada) and contacts sorted for gigs in the USA. So we are looking to get this sorted asap.

Is it just a jam/session or more like some X-Factor'y thing?

Hey dude, our audition structure is basically learning one or more of the tracks on our myspace and a jam session. This includes checking out what songs the singer may have and jamming along with the song(s). Its a case of giving everyone a hour long or so slot sort of deal at our rehearsal studios.
