i recently heard a remix of there is a light that never goes out, does anyone know who did it or where i can get it?

That would be Schneider TM's 'The Light 3000'. Can be found on an reputable filesharing network. Pleasingly more delicate than the original. Veejo here.
While on the subject of covers, go check out the Bad Plus' cover o' the boy Jame's 'Flim'.

I remember when that came out people raved about how it was brilliant and far better than the original. In my opinion it sucks out all the melodrama and emotion of the original leaving a vapid noise that sounds like a computer talking about a road accident.

Gareth, it is exactly that sort of cold hearted attitude which broke Dougie Knight's heart and closed his shop.

But yes, it's cr*ap alright.
:D

nah, it's amazing. that is, if it's the song the fella actually meant (more of a cover than a remix

i think it's a free download at http://www.schneidertm.com/ haven't checked in a while though. Edited by: the dirty weed at: 11/5/05 4:37 pm

i dunno , i was quite keen on it.
i think the cold factor of the cover worked to enhance the original feeling of the song.
