Sub Pop's newest signing Oxford Collapse are a guitar/bass/drums trio from Brooklyn comprising of Michael Pace (vocals/guitar), Dan Fetherston (drums), and Adam Rizer (bass/vocals). Combining a charming lack of guile with a capable and focused aim towards creating intelligent and catchy pop, Oxford Collapse are the perfect antidote to tired cynicism and rubbish haircuts.
After all, who wants to see a rock band keeping their distance with a cool detachment? Oxford Collapse are nervous, excitable, bounding against prison walls of their own device. A certain tension, born of excitement and anticipation, is always present in the interplay between guitar, bass and drums – this is the sound of a band enjoying themselves, turning diversion in to purpose. Like Pavement or Dinosaur Jr before them, Oxford Collapse take boredom, fun and angst and use them to write great pop songs.
Inspired by the ethic of the Minutemen and the sense of tireless work embodied by that trio and the rest of the SST Records roster, Oxford Collapse have released four albums in three years, and toured extensively in their native US and Europe, including a high profile tour support slot with We Are Scientists. This February will see the band play 28 dates throughout Europe, including 6 shows in the UK/Ireland. Be sure not to miss them!

I love a bit of Oxford Collapse now and again.
Shame I'll not be able to go to this and only a couple of English dates too from what I can see.
