Would anyone have a rough idea what time they're on at as I am wanting to see Arsenal take another 3 points of the spuds before I head down.
  2. avatar the_doctor199
On stage at 9 though they probably will be on late so maybe 9:10, you could watch the match in the bar in the Odyssey Pavillion and then leave after the first half.

I wasn't at the gig last night but heard a bit of them playing the electric proms on the radio the other day. Liam's singing sounded like he was impersonating Mr Punch.

The Hours were great. Oasis good too. I have to say though I have never ever seen so much beer being thrown around. I am hope sucking my shirt :)
  20. avatar unplugged
as much as i like oasis' music....

to go to their concerts.... id rather have my ass fucked by a razor bladed dildo.

the amount of chavs tonight cannot be charted, and YES it would ruin the gig. fuck the music. chavs and spides ruin everything. including life.

hence your shirt being soaked in beer... cos only REAL men can throw beer.

if anyone at a gig fucked beer around me id break their jaw, i-for 33 its not part of my ticket price. :D
  21. avatar anty
surely punching someones worth 33 with the devalued sterling

btw the hours were terrible when their vocalist tried to be half MC half angsty youth, oasis were so-so.

id only punch as to fit in with noel and liams mindset

    oh aye our kyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyd

I thought The Hours were good considering the venue and audience were not there to hear them ? I thought Oasis were good although I did get the impression they didn't want to be there ?
  24. avatar pauldoherty
I thought both bands were good, but Noel didnt speak one word all night....didnt even introduce a song.....they didnt want to be there..

I fired round with such the aggression the guy behind me panicked and explained it wasn't him but the guy 2 rows back. I looked at the guy who rows back, sized him up and made the judgement that it was a pleasure to be soaked by him - he was massive :)

There was so much beer flying around everyone will have got hit. There was a slight altercation between two guys beside us that ended well thankfully :)

Definitely different from the Nickelback audience though.

    He said in total

"wonderwall" before yes, Wonderwall and something about in 'Manchester they did 5 encores and this is no fing Manchester' I couldn't make it out. oh and 'this really the last song' or something.

They really didn't look like they were enjoying it. I liked the hours though,
  27. avatar confetti
a customer just told me that Noel was on the radio this morning and said that they would have to think twice about coming back to Belfast because they had coins thrown at them.
  28. avatar Captain Kennedy
Crowd was a fecking disaster. Beer showers, spides, near poked in the eye with a cigarette.

I was beside that scrap digmo mentioned. My mate broke it up. I felt like jumping in too because the spides had got me to boiling point. Moved to the back of the hall after about 6 songs. Sounded a whole lot better.

They played well but had absolutely no want to actually be there.

I thought the new stuff sounded well, probably because you could actually hear what they were singing....obviously the spides haven't learnt the words yet.

Thats my 10th time seeing them and most likely my last, unless it's in an intimate venue or something like that.
  29. avatar digmo
I'm glad I'm not the only person annoyed with the crowd. I was shocked to be honest.

Radio interviews were yesterday so that must have been Wed night, that might explain the slightly cold reaction from the band on Thurs night.

It was shocking I have to say.
  31. avatar confetti
i feel a little sorry for the villagers of Slane, at least there were only 10,000 spides in Belfast. :D
  32. avatar pauldoherty
I actually prefer to watch gigs outside of belfast, which is a sad state of affairs....people get drunk and throw things at bigger gigs and at small intimate gigs they just talk right through it.

And as for the coin throwing...Ian Brown in the ulster hall a few years back was a bit mental and he said he aint coming back...meh
  33. avatar digmo
I've knocked up a bit of a review with photos... after getting over my pint of beer on the back of my head. Harp too.

I liked the hours though, crowd really annoyed me.... I'd hate to cleaning the arena today all the same.
  34. avatar noelyg05
It amazes me that people queue for fecking 30 mins to spend 3.40 for a pint just to throw it at people?

Though it could be worse I saw Oasis at the city of manchester stadium a few years back and watched in horror as people in front of me got clocked on the head with what appeared to be a pint of piss.

Stunned at the behaviour of the spides at Spiderock's biggest band.

[b:97067efd91]Can I ask what you were expecting to see from a Torquay hotel window??[/b:97067efd91]
  37. avatar whosbainejakey
As expected, last night was a shambles. The band didn't want to be there and the bar staff were on the verge of being murdered by loads of angry punters upset at having to queue for 30 mins minimum just to be told there was no beer left.

That review above is a little off, imo. The band didn't play brilliantly. Noel even fucked up Slide Away by forgetting the solo, cue tuneless noodling. The new stuff also sounded fairly lifeless, apart from Shock of The Lightning. It certainly wasn't a patch on their Odyssey show for Don't Believe The Truth.

Still, at least the crowd were too busy throwing beer at each other to care. 2 pints to sup, 2 pints to chuck seemed to be the general rule.

Also, who throws coins at a gig?! FFS!
  38. avatar digmo
Whosbainejakey I did think it was good on the whole, but agree with everything you have said, the 4 pints rule did seem to play true :) a total waste. I wasn't at the last Odyssey show do nothing to compare with.

I was genuinely scared at one stage....I heard one lady give off she paid for seated but had to stand to see as everyone was on their feet in front of her.

Why would people may money to go and assault a band with coins too ? makes to sense at all. Nickelback and Def Leppard was a very different story.

Maybe people thought they were busking. I mean, where do you usually hear people playing Oasis songs badly?
  40. avatar blamelouis
    My first post!
I was there on Weds with the missus and it wasnt beer they were throwing they were standing in front of us filling the pint glasses themselves.
    Thought oasis were Excellent !!
  41. avatar Mickeycolensoparade
I was at the wednesday night gig. Although for the first two songs the sound was a bit dung, it picked up and ended up being a brilliant gig. I've been pretty vocal in my defense of Oasis on this forum, but in all honesty I was going to that gig expecting to be disapointed, which I wasn't at all. The setlist was brilliant, the sound picked up and Liam's voice though definitley not as strong as it used to be was still on good form. I was fucking gutted to see arseholes throwing coins, who goes to a concert to do that like? Importance of being idle was probably the highlight, or the surprise inclusion of Songbird!

Someone said earlier Noel barely said a word, but that must've been the thursday night because both brothers were on good form when I saw them, I suppose getting pelted by coins is always going to put a dampener on the following evening.

    God I love Oasis

Apparently when Tom Jones played here early in his career he told the crowd if whoever was throwing coins would like to come up on stage he'd soon knock it out of them. Good oul Tom, proper hardman, not like Liam (fake hardman).
  46. avatar Sadoldgit
    I had the bloody Oddyssey.
Full of drunk spides - getting abused and having beer thrown at me isnt my idea of fun.

I wasnt there , but from the comments made by Oasis, I think Belfast has shown itself to be spide central.

Why go to see a band and just get blocked.
  47. avatar digmo
Are there quotes from Oasis about the gigs ? are they available on the web ?
