[quote:04a6e957bb]To celebrate this week's single release (we still have those in England) Radiohead have broken up the song 'Nude' into pieces for you to remix.

For those of you who enjoy this sort of thing, you can buy the separate components or 'stems' (bass, voice, guitar, strings/FX and drums) and remix your own version of the song. You can do this by adding your own beats and instrumentation or just remixing the original parts. More information here: http://www.radioheadremix.com/information/

You can buy the stems here: http://www.radioheadremix.com/buy/[/quote:04a6e957bb]

This feels wrong on so many levels. I'm going to make my own special remix for them...

    My first post!
Asking for people to pay for the parts to remix is highly questionable...

But what about the totally bonkers idea that its NOT a competition?!

So you have to pay...to work hard at producing a remix... which you then submit... just for the sheer mindless craic of it?

Come off it lads, thats a bag of arse.

And this voting system is an utter shambles waiting to happen. Its obviously designed to make the whole 'wheat from chaff' process all nice and democratic like...

But hang on a sec - WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND has the time to wade through thousands upon thousands of random remixes in order to select the best on which to blow their one and only vote??

And surely anyone who cracks out a half-decent one in 3 hours will fare far, far better in this continuous voting game than someone who spends the next 3 weeks slaving over a complete masterpiece? Why isn't the voting stage AFTER the closing date for submissions?? Thats common sense surely?

Jamie Lidell just held a real remix competition - It was free , there was absolutely no copyright control bullsh*t and it was unbelievably simple - download the vocal, turn it into a track, email it back. He listens to the entries and picks a winner himself. Pretty straightforward!

The link appears to be broken, what was it?

Radiohead of all bands (them recently being all hippie-ish and saying "pay whatever you want for our music maaaaan") now asking us to pay to remix them is a bit shite like.

The Jamie Lidell remix was great craic.
    I'm well chuffed with mine...

Although he didn't mention what the prize was for the winner either, I'm not bothered. I'm chuffed to get the chance to 'work with the man' in a sense.

I'm at odds what to do with this Radiohead track. The original (to me) is so good, (probably the best track on In Rainbows) I don't want to piss all over it. I've already discovered it's 3/4 at 127bpm. So thats probably Hip Hop out the window. I've a couple of ideas .... *strokes beard*

PS re: Radiohead NUDE multitracks *cough* Torrents *cough* Pirate Bay *aheeem* ... excuse me... must be all the smoke in here...

It was the drum/bass loop (cut out of the original, no need to actually pay for the stems) with a fitter happier style voice ranting about how much radiohead have sold out and how pissed off I was with their recent activities with lots of swearing...

Be careful you read the terms&conditions before uploading anything, #3 is a bit of a fucker:

"3. Thom Yorke, Jonny Greenwood, Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien and Phil Selway will be registered and credited as the sole writers and WCM the publishers of the Remixes of the Song created by the Entrant;"

Yup, pay to let them call it their own...

Wow. That's pretty fucked up. I never thought I would be so cynical of Radiohead, but these are quite shady practices.

Still would be keen to hear that 'remix' if you fancy uploading it somewhere. Sounds like a hoot.
