If any? Well, apart from myself. I ask this because, as of late, I have found alot of general topics in the general forum, which have little at a push in realation to music. There's guff about chavs, football & next thing you know feline 1 will be posting "How many muslims does it take to tamper a squib?".

How many 'fuder's know the meaning of the word music? If any, what do ff users listen to? Anytime I mention a certain band it's rare anyone has anything to say in their honour - funny how some bands are slaged on here, that I'd expect to get a bigger following here than on metalireland.

Everytime I see a guitar for sale on here, I fear it's a wife beating device

Wow! Bang out of order. I was joking about what I said about guitars, but, you can't blame me for drawing such an assumption when, there was once a thread on here about the death of a wife beating musician (Ike Turner) which lasted about 8 pages, if not more.

The reason 'General' threads go on and on is because by their nature they are the only ones that are conditioned to. I mean, 'Band News' threads aren't gonna spew over into 12 page rants because a lot of the time they are just bands posting brief updates, videos, reviews or addresses. The 'Gigs' thread don't spew over, because they are primarily for advertisment as well, no? Same goes for the rest, leave our General thread alone, it is the tender social fabric which binds us all together!

With all due respect, I think I can understand your frustration at not being actively involved in creating the music you want to create, but to describe yourself as a struggling scrimping musician striving for fame is on the far side of ridiculous given that at an estimate several hundred of Fastfude's registered users actually [i:056beabaed]are doing[/i:056beabaed] that very thing, often to the detriment of their private lives, bank balances, health and mental well-being; whereas you are merely endlessly talking about it, with which you are achieving little beyond irritating others and further frustrating yourself.

Prog, what instruments do you have and how well can you play them? What setup is your drumkit?

If you have some tuned percussion and a drumkit, write something, record it, and you have a guaranteed audience here. You have no excuses for not doing this. Buy a t bone microphone off thomann for about 20quid and you can start putting your music out there.

In my experience, it's bloody difficult to get anyone to listen to your music. You have a headstart in that people will be curious.

Fair enough its a music site but come on, a good lot of users play music, listen to music, work at music... now they have to post music to other bands that the've jammed with during the week (and probley giged with them as well).

All work and no play makes something something soar beack.

Terrible excuse. I'm bad at being bothered to write essays and lab reports, but I bloody well have to otherwise I'll fail my degree. I'd rather sit around and play guitar and eat burgers. Most people are bad at being bothered to go to work, but they have to because that's how you get on with your life and achieve things. If you're bad at something, take responsibility for it and get good. This seems to be the key issue you aren't grasping at the minute. Take a bit of responsibility for yourself, no one cares for excuses, and you seem to make more than most. To somewhat pretentiously invoke Jean Paul Sarte, "man is nothing else but that which he makes of himself".

5 quid will buy you a cheapo argos microphone that you can plug into your soundcard and start recording your drums. Sure it'll sound terrible, but if people can hear that you can play with rhythm, authority and creativity, bands will be crying out for you to play for them. You currently have another thread going about buying a new drum kit, so don't lie and say you can't afford it.

Come on! Everyone here wants you to succeed!
