What better example of science than Roberto Carlos' banana kick? and can any philosopher really claim to come any closer to a sublime truth than total football?
Literary football might include Cantona's poetic press conference - when ze seagull follows the trawler... (lets face it that kung foo kick was poetry in motion) and the wit of Brian Clough, even Garcia Marquez said he couldn't understand why football has not been better represented in literature as it is such a dominant force in culture...
and politics could never be better distilled than the Roy Keane/Mick McCarthy business in South Korea (who incidentally played their semi-final game in loud speakers across the border in an act of political gloating).

This thread is f'in hilarious but aye, footballs sh*te. It's alright for a wee kick about but actually watching it and crying when your wee team don't get through then rioting over it?! Come on. Wise up. You're grown men.

Also, when I see anyone wearing a football top with their favourite team and UFF/UVF/UDA/IRA tattooed on their forearms, I look down on them with disgust and hope they notice and feel bad about being scum.
  120. avatar gtm
Oh yeah because the link between wearing a football shirt and paramilitary sympathies is undeniable! I expect you've done a Ph.D or something in this frankly ridiculous field?! Go and munch your muesli.

If anyone wears a Smiths t-shirt whether they be tattooed or not, they deserve a swift kick in the sack.

Also, I agree with the "we" thing. You don't play for the team. You didn't win last night. Eleven others did who have no idea who you are. The team you support won, but you do not play for them, therefore it's not "we".

So to conclude, Robert Smith is a Man U Fan, and Patrick Morrissey is a culchie who runs about the Holy Lands beatin goths up?
Which football team wears Smiths t-shirts? And are they still allowed to watch rugby? Or "soccer" - which I've heard is "American" football? Though I heard American football was more like rugby. Shouldn't they just call it "American rugby"? I'm confused....
What's a "gaa"? Am I right in saying it's a Catholic gentleman who plays football, but is allowed to handle the ball, also do other fouls like knock the fu@k out of the opposing team members, and score points like rugby/American soccer?
If you like music can you be a gaa? Maybe you can if you beat up a Protestant gay metaller? Could that work?
Are Noel and Liam Gallagher "gaa"s? From their names, they sound Irish and I've heard they hit people.. Do they/are they allowed to like music?

    Where am I?
