Its great to see 'proper' bands playing outside of the usual Derry/Belfast confines.

Nice one. This will be an interesting gig. Who's doing sound at this gig? If you have booked anyone locally the chances are you've ended up with Behringer city.

I assure you it will be a 'proper' sound company.

BBC Radio 1 in association with Moving on Music presents

ALLOY MENTAL / PULL TIGER TAIL

    Thursday 12th April, 7pm
    OMAGH: Molly Sweeneys, Gortin Rd
Doors 7pm, broadcast live on Rory McConnell on Radio 1 in Northern Ireland from 7.30pm

Alloy Mental are stamping their size 12 boots all over torpid dance music and stale rock music and taking no prisoners. After their eponymous debut single got everyone from Zane Lowe to Pete Tong hot under the collar, the Belfast trio are about to release a dynamic album, uniting techno with alternative rock in a curling sneer of energetic mayhem, sounding like Nitzer Ebb on a collision course with Iggy & The Stooges. With only a handful of live shows under their belts, Alloy Mental bring their techno rock and roll circus to Omagh exclusively for BBC Radio1.

If Pull Tiger Tail made some friends with their musical exploits in 2006, then 2007 looks set to be the year that this maverick alt-pop trio will be able to claim the world and his cat as their best mates. After the infectious introductions to their world that were 2006 singles 'Animator' and 'Mr 100 Percent', the boys up the ante with their current single 'Let's Lightning'. Delivering all the stop start energy, sonic invention and sheer melodic joy that we have come to expect from PTT, this is yet another warped slice of perfect pop for an imperfect world. They are currently on tour with Razorlight and are about to set out on the NME New Music tour. But first, there’s the small matter of an exclusive performance in Omagh for BBC Radio 1.

Rory McConnell on Radio 1 in Northern Ireland. Every Thursday night, 7.30 till 9.00pm, playing the best new music from Northern Ireland and beyond. Rory ….’I’m really excited about taking my Radio 1 show to Omagh, it’s going to be a brilliant night and a great chance to see two of the hottest bands of 2007. Alloy Mental are a band I’ve supported from the very start and I think 2007 is going to be an amazing year for them’.
