Anybody know any websites where you can get genuinely free Ringtones?

I'm looking Stop! In The Name Of Love by the Supremes, but anywhere I can find it is charging like, £6, just for the one tune.

Can you actually get ringtones for free anywhere?

You could always make your monkey eat his bananas faster.

Polyphonic ringtones are essentially MIDI files. There are billions of websites, such as Midi Mole and Free Midi that offer plenty of midi files.

Download em to your pc, upload em to the web (or get a friend to do it), then point your phone's browser to the file. Or if you can connect your phone to your pc, do it that way.

Right houl on,

How do you get a song to your computer to your phone? Say all that again?

Cause I have plenty of songs on my computer. My Bluetooth, or whatever that thing is never seems to be working, and I don't know how I would go about physically connecting my phone to the computer.

I was thinking of some site where they might send you the tune as a text message or something, but if there's an easier way somebody please explain to me, slowly, bit by bit, for I've absolutely no clue how phones work.

Why don't you try and soldier on without a novelty ringtone? I know life can be hard.

Most phones now come with a USB cable and software which enables you to transfer data to and from your PC.

There's something about that monkey that made me want to make him eat faster, though I will NOT zap the mosquito.

Mine don't. There's nowhere to put a USB. I've tried downloading them through the WAP, but the only thing I could get was an unrecognisable This Old Heart Of Mine.

Since when has Stop! In The Name Of Love been a novelty ringtone?

If I have a URL which opens up a WM stream, and which ends in .midi, how do I download this onto my phone>? Just enter the url? Or must I do something else?

What model of phone do you have - then someone with the same phone might be able to help.

But in reference to your above quote - Is there an options button/menu that says, "Save target" or something along those lines?

Aye, but tell us the model of your phone and we should be able to help!

Basically search for pages for mobiles using google on your pc to save you money
http://www.google.co.uk/m?output=xhtml&source=mobileproducts

When you find files that you think might work on your phone put the url in, if it works you can download them, many won't though if there are too many instruments in the midi for your phone etc.

I got a ton of Final Fantasy tones doing this as I have no cable for my phone.
