Walked past it today. Well sort of, cuz it's actually not there anymore, having been demolished.

When/why did that happen? I shall miss the place. I spent many a hungover Sunday in there, getting progressively worsening scores then resorting to Daytona USA with a pint in hand.

    You must have been loaded

didnt even know it was gone

It sucks, anyone know what they did with all the stuff? I'd quite like to buy one of the red balls.

It wasn't that dear chi, for ages you could get 3 games for £3.50.

Those were indeed good times  I preferred the superbowl to the spidey one in the odyssey too, bastards!

A source of mine claims that it is moving to Lisburn! Though saying that I dunno how reliable said source is.

A couple of my friends worked there and told me that it was moving to Lisburn, near the Omniplex as far as I know.

    The Lagan Valley Hospital?

Knock over all ten geriatrics, and win a pint of horrendously watered-down Budweiser.
  9. avatar sheriffjohnstone
It could well be moving to lisburn, however they've been talking about a Bowling alley being built since the cinema first opened.
  10. avatar I'mDead
Look, will you all stop being so selfish! How can you sit there, moping about the demolition of a bowling alley, when this city is CLEARLY crying out for more car parks/apartments/offices.

For heavens sake, there are perfectly good streets for you to 'socialise' in and be welcomed with open arms by the local winos/spides/rapists etc.

    Sheesh, kids these days.

    The Omniplex area is actually.

Remember when you could nip through that door that connected the place to the bar of the old Morrisons, load up on beer and then bring it back into the bowling alley /arcade - all without any ID whatsoever? Happy days indeed.

Glad we got a couple of frames in last month, it will actually kind of be missed.

EDIT: Also: "Welcome to Quazar." My cousin competed in the national championships in London, you know. He later got to use his skillz in Iraq

Yeah we used to do that in reverse and sneak into the bar and stay in a dark corner praying the bouncers wouldn't notice us.

Jeez, first they're getting the sports stadium (ok, the Maze) and now they're getting a bowling alley. AND they're calling it a city these days.

    What a dump.

Apart from a difference in size, it's no worse than Belfast really.

Er, it is Belfast. Even when Lisburn is claiming to not be Belfast, its counting parts of Belfast to make it bigger. Glengormley should be a city if Lisburn is.

Not that I think either should be - they're both just areas in Belfast as far as I would consider. Its pretty laughable - given the size of a proper city - which townlands claim to be cities.

    That's a shame.

It's ridiculous. We have to go to spide mecca instead, and pass through fkn Mordor on the way home.
    :!:

Is there not already a bowling place near the omniplex. Never saw one I work in the new gym beside the leisure centre and since we opened there's been people coming in asking for directions to the bowling alley? Are they all crazy or what's going on here?
  24. avatar 3cigarettes
I was walking past it last week and confirmed with one of the workmen that it's all being torn down for some cráppy hotel or something.

It really sucks :( It was one of the few places you could actually go and have some fun in the middle of town without spending 30 minutes walking to stupid Odyssey.

Really annoying that it's moving to Lisburn, what the hell use is that to me
