OK so I'm off work on Saturday for the first time in ages and it just happens to be St. Patrick's day as well!

So have decided to have some lunch in town and start a pub crawl with a few band mates taking in dinner along the way.

So anyone have any good routes in mind? Starting off/finishing? etc.
  2. avatar mooncat
wel the sinocence,NDL,interrogate gig is durin the day at the l'lite startin at 3.30 and finishin at 8. metal durin the day is the perfect way to get set up for gettin ROTE AFFF l8r in the day lol.
  3. avatar Beau Sooth
Hmmm, Mickey is into his metal but not many others who are coming. Might have to give that a miss.
  4. avatar Beau Sooth
And you're all welcome too.....as long as you're not psychos! :D
  5. avatar Rezo
I remember a route we did years ago (pint of Guinnes in each!) - I remember there was a skint demo on at queens so it's a while ago!

    Pats Bar
    Rotterdam
    Morning Star
    Kitchen Bar
    White's Tavern
Shenanigans or whatever it was called then/now
    Crown
    Beaten Docket
    Robinsons
    Katy Daly's
Lavery's (rejected entry if I recall)
    The Empire
    The Fly
    The Elms
    Bunatee
    The Eg
    The Bot
    Bed for about 3 days... :smt015 :smt119 :smt078
  6. avatar Beau Sooth
Nice route. Bit of a dander between Rotterdam and the Morning Star though. Never been in the Beaten Docket.
  7. avatar Per
pitstop in McHughs on the way
  8. avatar Rezo
Got a dodgy cab from outside Pat's. The driver practically hand-braked the car outside In Shops!
  9. avatar Beau Sooth
McHughs,Kelly's,Robinsons,Apartment,Basement,Garrick,Cloth-Ear,Spaniard....quite a few others could be fitted in there.
  10. avatar tinpot anto
Kelly's, Madden's, Whites, Kelly's, Maddens, Kelly's, Tesco Off Licence, Musgrave St Police Station.... :D
  11. avatar Beau Sooth
    :D
  12. avatar ssmcmullan
    Gang Green in the Bunker!
  13. avatar huggy baps
surely its better to go somewhere early and try and get a seat instead of fighting your way for one beer in about ten bars?
  14. avatar Dirty Stevie Grizz
i'd suggest the town is best avoided altogether on the St Pats-Fest
  15. avatar chris1984_99_99
Im just impressed that Rezo can remember that pub crawl... i'd probs remember the first few.... after that... i believe the memory becomes corrupt!

Then it wouldn't be a pub crawl. :)

Nah I think our plan is to hit town early, get annoyed with too many people and retire for a carryout in somebodies house, delighted to be there and not in town. :)
  17. avatar tingtatingtingtingtating
Start at the City Hall :

    Garrick
    Vaudeville
    Basement
    Apartment
    Skye
    Irene and Nans
    Fibbers
    Robinsons

--walking time - buy some fags - get a burger or something--

    Katy Dalys
    Auntie Annies
    Laverys
    Empire

A pint in each and that's 12 pints - You're ready to get your carryout now.
  18. avatar whipchorus
Anyone recommend a decent pub crawl route in Dublin while we're at it?

    9. The Market Bar
    10. Hogan’s

Mulligan's on Poolbeg St is great. Glad to see it's on there.

Where's the Long Hall on Gt Georges? Great pub.
  21. avatar Sparky
Mornning Star - Steak and beer

    Katys
    Annies

Remember to have booze in the house for after hours drinkery. And make sure you have bacon in the fridge. Morning after fry. Then the Empire on Sunday for the football. Sadly I'm working. My plan involves 2 crates of post work Guinness and 2 packs of smokes. Noice.
  22. avatar Beau Sooth

For God's sake don't miss BCC's stellar line-up at Custom House Sqaure!

"The first half of the concert will feature traditional Irish and Ulster-Scots performers, including folk group Blackthorn and the South City Highland Dancers, as well as international boy band Streetwize.

The second half of the concert will feature Samantha Mumba, who will be taking a break from filming her latest movie with top director Stephen Spielberg to wow the Belfast audience with what promises to be a fantastic free performance.

Bringing the concert to a close will be the up-and-coming Scottish singer Sandi Thom, who enjoyed virtually overnight success last year with hit singles such as I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (with Flowers In My Hair), What If I'm Right? and Lonely Girl, and her debut album Smile… It Confuses People.

With a capacity of around 5,000, admission to Custom House Square is free, but entrance will be on a strictly first-come-first-served basis."

How gratifying that 'myspace sensation and music industry revolutionary' Sandi Thom has sunk as low as one can go in record speed.

    Streetwize?

Isn't that the band EPK left fastfude to join?
  26. avatar Beau Sooth
I like the way they're Streetwize and not Streetwise.

    It's all about the z's.

I know it's aimed at families etc but that line up is beyond parody. I mean, really.
  28. avatar tinpot anto
I met Samantha Mumba one time.

I was pretty much sh1t-faced, but I do remember her being very shiney. 8)

There was a really hilarious story in the Indo last week about how she'd had to cancel her 'triumphant comeback' gig in Vicar Street after selling about 40 tickets. Made more amusing cos a C4 crew is following her about for a fly on the wall doc about her 'triumphant comeback'. You can imagine how she's going to come out of that one. What a shame.
Still, at least she's hosting the inaugural Fate awards so it's not all Z-list tragedy in her life. :P
  31. avatar tinpot anto
I can't really wish any harm to her, she was remarkably polite and tolerant as I attempted to expresh myshelf and my admiration for her. At least I assume so, as I wasn't immediately wrestled to the ground with a 20 stone mans knee in my face :)
  32. avatar T Entertainment
Ach, I'm sure she's nice, she just embodies the stage school, Louis Walsh preened manufactured wunderkid charabanc of sh*te. And seeing that disintegrate is always worth a giggle.
Finally, let's not feel too sorry for her as she's made a f*cking fortune modelling underwear for Marks and Spencers, an option not open to many of us. Though I think it is time Goatboy was given a shot for a range promoting 'real beauty' in men a la Dove Soap. :D

The Whig don't show rugby anymore! Of course, I've heard there's a wee pub round the corner called McHugh's which will be showing it in the basement. ;-)

Are you sure the Whig don't? Damn it! Plans up the wall.
  39. avatar tinpot anto
To be fair the Whig is a keek hole anyway, so no loss.

I would go for McHughs, Spaniard, Duke of York, Hewitt, Whites, Kelly's, Maddens, Morning Star, The Garrick (don't miss the Garrick for a pint of slow flow!), Katy Daly's, Auntie Annies, The Empire, Lav's, then go back to the Garrick and stay there till closing time, then go to Kelly's :)

Not sure what that's about but all we managed was McHughs,Whites,Kellys,Auntie Annies,Lavery's. Saw Tinpot Anto in Kelly's but didn't get the chance to say hello...aw well. 1pm-11.00pm.....was on for more but glad I didn''t....mate went to Katy Daly's after Lavery's and saw a guy get beaten to a pulp by some biker dudes...nasty sh1t!

It can bring out the best but it can bring out the worst too I suppose.
