Did anyone witness this shambolic excuse of a show last night? Lauren Laverne was a sorry sight and her comedic attributes leave alot to be desired. Jamie T beat Thom Yorke and Jarvis Cocker in the Best Solo Artist category, whats that all about? To top it all off, Mick Jones in what appeared to be a drug fuelled state attempting to perform with Primal Scream.

Edit - Not forgetting The Killers, Im sure Peter Hook thought there performance was a pisstake. They sounded like a Joy Division tribute act.

The NME is the musical equivalent of Heat Magazine. Why did you even put yourself through watching such a show.

    It's Glorified písh.

Currently watching the repeat. It really is woeful.

To think they were extolling the virtues of the likes of Jonathan*Fireater and Brainiac, ohhh, ten years ago.

    How do they justify it?

I wonder if anyone has a list of the NME hacks who were employed in those halcyon days and still haven't moved on. I wonder where their head is, to be honest.

The NME is a rag,and the people who run it now resemble the kinda half wits who run the likes of the x factor.Image is everything.the Same paper that gace 'Be here Now' 10/10?????????????

Wait to you hear this! See The Kooks, they were nominated for Best New Band AND Worst Band awards! How crazy is that? The took it in good humour though. Fair play to them!

I don't actually have a problem with something being nominated in best and worst categories simultaneously. If something is outlandishly different (unlike the Kooks, then), some people may love it and some may hate it. Audio Marmite in a way. At least people are paying attention. Didn't see the show though.

A pointless thread? My apologies for initiating a thread relating to music, I'll start one about the Water Charges, oh wait!!!

water charges is more interesting than the fact that you didn't enjoy something on the telly

hmmm, was anyone here expecting the awards to be anything but a bit crap tho? Seriously, its like the threads where people complain about the Brit awards. What i meant was that it's pointless giving out about it.

    I accept your apology nonetheless;)
