THE BIG BUZZ AWARDS WINNERS!"Best New Irish Rock Band 2006"
Good stuff cuckoo rass, but i'll try and ignore the music in favour of the footy 2nite, tenner at 6/1 on derry and fiver @ 25/1 for derry to win 2-1.
Id be interested in hearing from anyone who has placed bets for tonight.
as it stands Derry should lose 10 - 0 but if they do a Norn Iron, who knows what will happen???
Excitement building up!! Brandywell and millenium forum sold out....

I honestly can't agree with that, Derry unbeaten at home all season, PSG haven't won away from home all season, PSG are leaving players out for this game, and they'll not be ready for the rocking atmosphere in the Brandywell, it's well within Derry's grasp.
Does anyone remember when they reworded and released "We Built This City (On Brandywell)" it was like 1986 or something - who was that?
It's never been far from my mind every time I hear the words Derry City FC, the tune just comes flooding back. Very annoying.
Looking forward to the match though.
They're fvckin lucky it's not Cliftonville there are up against.
Was that song not actually sung by Felix Healey himself?! 'Brandywell pride and brandywell pride and brandywell pride and brandywell pride and derry city! derry city! derry city! derry city! and Brandywell pride and Brandywell pride and brandywell pride and brandywell pride and' is what I remember.
Thanks, it's on a loop in my brain for about 3 years now...
Big GOOD LUCK !!! to all the derry city players !
Would be great to see them cause a shock.
I actually believe it will be a close game I was being slighty sacarcastic - hence it should be a true norn iron performance, well maybe irish when they play in the FAI eircom league

I know its dead annoying innit.
It went something like -"we built this city, we built this city on Brandwell, we built this city, we built this city on Braaaandyyywelllll" and went on an on - I dunno if that was Felix though, I do rememebr he did something, but was it that one?
As long as they dont re-release it.
I'm pretty sure felix did sing the one that went "'Brandywell pride and brandywell pride and brandywell pride and brandywell pride and derry city! derry city! derry city! derry city! and Brandywell pride and Brandywell pride and brandywell pride and brandywell pride and"
the one that I will never, ever get out of my head. Ever.
Felix Healy sang Brandywell Pride but I always thought "we built this city" was more of a chant, but the years haven't been kind to my brain.
/edit
so far according to Betfair £176,680 has been bet on this game, with Derry at 5/1 and PSG at 4/6 and the draw at 11/4.
Thank God I didn't imagine that!
I always followed Felix's career closely having been dragged to Coleraine Showgrounds every third saturday as a kid. Today they'd call it abuse and I'd be given counselling.
No I can hear it in my head - someone definitly did that - or maybe Radio Foyle used some 1986 technical wizardry on it?
what ever, it is also in my head for the foreseeable future.

I only ever heard it at the Brandywell, but Radio Foyle didn't arrive in Strabane until the late 90s, so I could be mistaken ![]()
Should have bloody won that..
Half Time.
Job well done.
Now finsh it off.
I wish it were Cliftonville.
Should be able to snatch a result over there based on that (under-par) performance and if the referee will actually give something derry's way!
Hi Guys,
After being credited for the BBC2 NI - MATCH OF THE DAY, start sequence on Thursday night for the UEFA CUP Derry V's Paris Saint Germain match.
We have once again been informed the BBC producers are planning to use the instrumental sequence of CUCKOO RASS tune "We Walk" on THE CHAMPIONSHIP program. Its expected to be used on the end credits of this show
TV: BBC2 NI - The Championship
Details: programme starts at 6.30pm, Saturday 16 September 2006
The show looks back at how the two teams made it to the final and speaks to many people on who they should look out for on the day of the game plus who they think will win the Sam Maguire Cup [Kerry V's Mayo - Eve of All Ireland GAA Final, End Credits]
Michael
ps. The show before this at 6.00pm also shows Mick Scullion lead singer of the band talking about antrim hurley in general at matches and in his workshop making hurley sticks!!!
20/1 for the win tonight? Probably not, but I'll be winging a wee fiver on the score draw!
Levadia Tallinn are 20/1 to beat Newcastle tonight. I reckon it could be worth sticking a fiver on it although I was at the Newcastle vs Everton match at the weekend and Newcastle were looking pretty good. I'm off to the match tonight too.
PS - Good luck Derry City!
The poor Candystripes ![]()
TERRIBLE RESULT - VERY UNLUCKY ![]()
